What is your least favourite part about tanning? For me it’s the transfer and mess. I love the glow I get from a nice, at home tan, but the mess that it can leave on sheets and clothes is just so frustrating. I may have finally found the secret though…and I know, it sounds too good to be true!
From my favourite tanning brand, that I am sure you have heard me rave on about time and time again, I have been testing out the new Clear Self Tanning Water and just like all the other Bali Body products I’ve tried, I am thoroughly impressed. For those of you who haven’t heard me rave about Bali Body before (or have forgotten). Let me remind you. Bali Body are the bronzed skin experts and they have a mission to empower women around the glove to feel confident in their own skin. They have an amazing line of suncare, tanning and cosmetics products and they are make one of my favourite tans!
Now back to the Clear Self Tanning Water. This water based, full body tan solution is the perfect way to get a clean and easy tan at home. It is a water to foam formula, which I find to be super hydrating, that is super easy to use. It contains no dye (essentially no guide colour), which was TERRIFYING for me, to say the least. I know, I expected an absolute patchy mess, but what I was left with was the most even, gorgeous glow.
It is formulated with 100% Natural DHA & environmentally friendly ingredients, making it the perfect solution for sensitive skin or anyone searching for a more natural self tan alternative to add to their beauty regime. It has a light to medium finish.
To use, I prepped as usual - an exfoliation in the shower, a little application of moisturiser to my dry spots (round my elbows, knees, ankles and hands) - then I just used the Luxe Tanning Mitt and applied the foam in even circles. I, personally, like to apply a second coat once the first has dried, to my arms an legs, just for a little extra darkness on the spots that will be seen. I will say, I took my time a lot more with this tan when applying, just to make sure I got everywhere evenly and it definitely paid off. The huge benefit of the no dye formula is that it actually doesn’t cling to dry spots like other formulas, so it doesn’t give those extra, annoying dark patches in places that you don’t want (no one wants knees darker than the rest of their legs…). What I was left with, when I rinsed the tan in the morning, was a beautiful medium glow. Like with all of the Bali Body products, it was super hydrating too, not leaving my skin feeling tight or dry anywhere. I feel like the before and after says it all too!
I was apprehensive about this one, I thought it would be the first failure for me because I have bad memories of using tanning waters and ending up a patchy mess, but look…Bali Body just cannot fail me!
