Does anyone remember to 2020 when I was absolutely terrified of tanning and couldn’t bring myself to do it? Oh how times have changed….and that’s all thanks to Bali Body.
For those who have not heard me rave about Bali Body before (or have forgotten) let me introduce you. Bali Body are the Australian bronzed skin experts and they have a mission to empower women around the glove to feel confident in their own skin. They have an amazing line of suncare, tanning and cosmetics products and they are make some of my favourite tanning products! Today I want to take you through a few of my absolute go-to products when it comes to tanning.
I was a die hard fan of the original tanning mousse, until this entered my life. This aerated formula achieves a dark and natural looking self tan, just like the original tanning mousse, in just 1 hour. It's lightweight & fast drying to ensure a streak free, natural looking result time after time. I have never been a fan of sleeping in tan and love that I can apply this, watch a movie or a couple of episodes of my fave TV show, and it’s ready. It is fail safe and I haven’t reached for another tan since discovering it.
It’s super simple to use, like all their tanning products. Using the Luxe Tanning Mitt, on exfoliated skin, just apply in circular motions, ensuring you cover all parts of your body. For those who are nervous or haven’t attempted tanning before, Bali Body has a super helpful video on their website which makes it even simpler. It is a 1 hour tan, but I would typically apply it and leave it on for up to 2 hours, just for a slightly deeper glow. Then I just jump in the shower and rinse.
My top tip: Keeping your skin moisturised after tanning will help your tan last even longer as well.
I have two favourites when it comes to face tanning. I know…that’s a lot but they’re both so good for slightly different reasons. The first one is the Face Tan Water. After applying a fresh tan, I love to use this on my face. This self tanning water provides a flawless, natural looking tan on your face, neck and chest. Enriched with anti ageing, skin loving ingredients to purify, hydrate and perfect your complexion. It’s skincare meets self tan.
I apply this just before I go to bed on the day I’ve tanned – a thin layer, followed with a good moisturiser results in a gorgeous, even face tan. It’s super easy to use, giving an even glow to the skin overnight. I love that it cares for my skin at the same time.
Now you could really use this or the Face Tan Water, you might not need both. But I need both. And I find both so useful to have in my tanning routine. I use the Face Tan Water to build up the immediate tan, to match the rest of my body. Then use Gradual Face Tan to maintain the colour on my face.
I don’t know about you, but I find that tan always wears off on my face first. This is due to a few reasons – the fact that I wash my face twice a day and that I use active ingredients in my skincare which are designed to exfoliate the skin being the main two. I like to try and maintain my face tan for as long as possible, which is where the Gradual Face Tan comes in. I use this as my evening moisturiser to help build up and maintain my tan. You can use it twice daily to build up the colour, and then just as needed to maintain. I sometimes use this when I just want a little extra colour on my face and décolletage but don’t want to do a full tan.
It contains Aloe vera extract, cacao butter, shea butter, coconut oil, sweet almond and natural DHA’s, so it’s going to care for your skin while also giving you a beautiful glow.
I could honestly talk about all the Bali Body products and how great they are, because I’m yet to try one that I don’t love. They are simple, work well, vegan and cruelty free as well. If you’re on the hunt for your next tanning product, you know where to go!
