Current Skincare Routine : Evening Edition

Welcome back to another skincare routine post! You all wanted to know about my current skincare routine, so here it is! Today we are talking all about my evening skincare routine.
If you missed my last post, I shared my morning routine, so make sure you head back and check that out first. Because I will refer to some things that I use in the morning as well. So let’s just jump into it. I also talked about my skin type in that post, so if you’re interested in that, please head back over.

Step 1 : First Cleanse : Good Molecules Clarify and Cleanse Bar*

I am a big fan of double cleansing, particularly after having make up on all day. I typically use a cleansing balm, but I am currently all out of cleansing balms and oils (it’s a sad time I know...). I have been using this cleansing bar for a while now and it’s grown on me! I haven’t used a cleansing bar before, so I’ve been surprised. This ultra-gentle, soap-free bar clarifies and detoxifies skin without stripping for a comfortable clean. It contains salicylic acid, kaolin clay and rose hip oil, making it perfect for acne prone skin (like mine), without being drying. It’s working well to remove make up as well.

Step 2 : Second Cleanse : Synergie Skin UltraCleanse*

I am not usually a gel cleanser girl, but I have been loving this cleanser as my second cleanse. It is a gentle yet concentrated gel cleanser suitable for all skin types. Designed to effectively remove surface pollution, traces of makeup and excess oil without stripping the natural pH of the skin. It foams gently and leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean!

Step 3 : Tone : Ole Henrikson Glow2OH Dark Spot Toner

As you might remember from my last post, I was using the Good Molecules Niacinamide Toner for my morning tone, it’s not a super strong toner, so I have started using a slightly stronger toner at night time. Again, I don’t find this super intense and haven’t had any irritation from it, but because it contains Lactic Acid and Glycolic (my favourite), it’s been doing wonders for my skin texture. I put a small amount in my hand and pat into my skin. I used to use cotton pads, but I find my toners last longer and work better when applied this way.

Step 4 : Mist : Youth to the People Adaptogen Soothe + Hydrate Activated Mist*

Another newbie to me, but I felt like it was the perfect time to start introducing it into my routine. With the cooler month coming in, I am starting to introduce more hydrating products, starting with this mist. It’s lightweight and a perfect product to follow your toner if it’s a little bit strong, as it helps to instantly calm and soothe your skin. The mist is so fine and it has almost no scent. I currently have a mini, but I am thinking I might need a full size when it runs out...

Step 5 : Serum/Oil : Recreation Beauty Vibrant Face Oil*

Another newbie in my collection that I am VERY excited about. This newbie from Recreation contains 25 botanical extracts and oils, bakuchiol (non-irritating retinol alternative) and blue light + UV protection. I am curious to see how this goes as an alternative to retinol, and I will definitely share thoughts once I have used it for a while. It can be used as an oil, serum and moisturiser so if you’re keen on a quick and easy one product routine, this is for you. It smells lovely and feels beautiful on the skin.

Step 6 : Eye Cream : Origins Ginzing Refreshing Eye Cream

I spoke about this in my previous blog post, so I won’t talk about it again, you can just go back and read it!

Step 7 : Moisturiser : Youth to the People Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream*

A new moisturiser to me, I’ve been using this for about a month. It is a super hydrating moisturiser, but doesn’t feel thick or heavy on the skin. The best thing I am finding is that it is super gentle, calming the skin if I have gone a bit too hard on the exfoliation or if my skin is just being annoying. It feels like a no nonsense moisturiser and I’m all for it.

Optional Extra : Overnight Mask : Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask*

Every so often I like to put on a sleeping mask, just for either an extra boost of hydration or to help with another skin concern. My current go to is the Watermelon Sleeping Mask. It is an AHA and Hyaluronic Acid mask that gives an immediate hydration boost and always helps give me that beautiful glow. I did a full review of the brand over here if you’re interested!

And that is it for my evening routine. Again, it’s nothing too flash, but is working towards the glory look that I’ve been looking for. I don’t like to over complicate my routine, instead trying to focus on a couple of products that work extremely well.
