Office Essentials for every #BossBabe

Working from home has it's perks, like being able to sit on the couch in your pyjamas while responding to emails. As I can't do that full time (hello part time teaching job), I need to make sure the time I spend working on TLOL is productive. To do that I have created an 'office' space that is welcoming and encourages me to work hard whenever I'm in there. Here's introducing my 'office essentials'.
My office doubles as my beauty room where I store all my beauty products, do my make up and my skincare routine. When I'm working I have to set up my desk in a certain way to ensure that I have all the necessities and that it is a welcoming environment.

I start by lighting a candle. I find candles are the perfect way to make a space feel warm and inviting, not to mention that it will also smell amazing. If you know me by now you will know that I can't burn more then one candle at a time. I like to enjoy each scent by itself. I am currently burning the Peppermint Grove Coconut and Lychee candle which I picked up during the boxing day sales. It is a gorgeous summer scent, but I am so in love with it at the moment. I wish it was a permanent part of their range.

I then get myself a hot cup of tea. Always peppermint tea. My preference is for the T2 Peppermint Tea. I also love using my Uppercup* reusable coffee cup. I have been using it a lot at work because the coffee shop across from school does not use takeaway cups, so no cup no coffee (jks I don't drink coffee but that's beside the point, they do a great hot chocolate). I also love using it when I'm working at home as well because I am a slow tea drinker and the Uppercup's double insulated wall helps my tea stay warmer for longer. I also love the lip that you drink from, there is something so comfortable about drinking from it. It's a weird thing to say I know, but there is something so nice about drinking from the cup. Anyway moving on from that, it just the perfect cup to keep my tea needs under wraps while I write my blog posts.

Then there are snacks. Don't forget the snacks! I almost always have a jar of treats somewhere in my study, but at the moment I am devouring some delicious Gooey's* from The Dessert Jar. They are just delicious cookies and perfect for snacking on through blog posts. I also have some mint's on my desk because fresh breath makes me feel better and helps me get moving.

As for beauty products I don't tend to keep a lot on my desk. I will occasionally have a hand cream hiding somewhere, but not at the moment. I will ALWAYS have a lip balm, especially now that my lips are SO dry. I am currently obsessed with the Fresh Beauty lip products particularly the Sugar Caramel Hydrating Lip Balm. Though the Sugar Lip Treatment Advanced Therapy is possibly the best lip balm I have ever used.

As for the things that I need to actually do work. While I edit my photos on my iMac downstairs as I prefer the bigger screens for editing, I write all my posts and respond to emails on my MacBook Pro. It's a bit old now as I got when I started uni, but it's my old faithful and still works extremely well. I am an Apple girl all the way and nothing can ever change that. I often will set up my iPad and watch Youtube or Netflix (currently obsessed with Brooklyn 99). I know that will surprise some of you but I find that I concentrate and work better when I have TV on in the background. something silly and fun that doesn't require much attention. I can't do music, but TV helps me focus. Weird, I know.

I always have a notebook on my desk as well in case I want to write things down. I am quite old fashioned in that sense - I love brainstorming and planning by hand. I love the Kikki K notebooks, they are stylish, the lines are light and they are note huge. All the things I want in a notebook (legit...I take my notebook buying very seriously). I also have a magazine or two on my desk that I've been reading to give me some inspiration from time to time. Currently reading Vogue and Her Canberra. Though I just got the latest Audrey Daybook so I'll be moving onto that next.

So that's what your #BossBabe's desk looks like and the essentials that I have with me when I need to get stuff done. I would love to hear what you have as your office essentials. Did I miss anything? Let me know in the comments below xx
