Top 5 Reasons To Use Rosehip Oil

RosehipPLUS is currently celebrating it's 5th birthday!! To celebrate, I want to share the top five reasons that I use Rosehip Oil (one of my favourite skincare ingredients).
You haven't heard of RosehipPLUS before?! Well let me indulge you. Australians aren’t really familiar with rosehips. If you grew up in Europe or South America you would have seen them growing wild. For centuries rosehips were known as one of nature’s richest sources of Vitamin C, packed full of other vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants offering great benefits for general health and wellbeing. After travelling to the Andes Mountains in Chile, South America, RosehipPLUS launched their very own Rosehip Oil back in 2012. They are now proud to be a Certified Organic Skin care range and the only beauty brand whose products all contain Rosehip Oil. If you are all about skincare products that don't contain toxins, chemicals, preservatives and other nasties then RosehipPLUS is definitely for you.

I have been a lover of Rosehip Oil ever since I started my blog and first discovered RosehipPLUS. Their certified organic Rosehip Oil* is a 100% pure and natural Certified Organic Rosehip oil, cold pressed from the highest quality seeds of the Rosehip berry (Rosa Canina) which are sourced in the southern regions of Chile. After starting to use Rosehip Oil last year for dryness, I now have a number of reasons that I can't give it up.

 1. Rehydrate dry skin

Let's get the obvious out of the way. As you are all probably well aware, my skin is so dry. When my skin is particularly dry or irritated, a little bit of Rosehip Oil can be an absolute life saver. Now, I don't just mean this for my face. If I have dry cuticles, or dry flaky skin from eczema, I will massage a couple of drops of this into the area to help rehydrate my skin. Rosehip Oil is my go-to for skin hydration and definitely something I cannot go without through winter.

 2. Reduce the appearance of scars

A benefit you might not know that Rosehip Oil has, is that it helps with scars. I think it's also another reason that I will continue to use Rosehip Oil forever. Thinking back to my skin type - it's very dry, but also very acne prone. Do you know how many skincare products offer hydration benefits AND help reduce acne? Very few. Rosehip Oil, however, works wonders. Massage this into my face at least once a day helps my acne scars clear up much faster and leave my skin looking almost clear (let's be reasonable, the day my skin is completely clear will be the best day of my life). Don't forget this extends to more than just acne scars. Fallen off your bike and got a nasty cut? Once the cut starts to heal, massage a couple of drops into the scar and watch it start to clear away.

 3. Reduce the appearance of stretchmarks

So many oils claim to do this one, but I have to say Rosehip Oil is one of the few that I have actually noticed that works. Stretchmarks and cellulite on your bum like me? Well this helps! Look, I won't promise it will be the be all and end all, but it definitely helps reduce the appearance of stretchmarks. I have heard a number of pregnant women who also really like to use this on their bellies throughout their pregnancy.

 4. Help to calm and reduce irritation

This is another big benefit for me. The past month or so I have had the most irritated and angry skin. My eczema has flared up all over my arms and legs, and my forehead had an awful reaction. Rosehip Oil was a huge help. Some days it was the only skincare product I used on my face. I would also massage a tiny bit into my eczema as well, as I found it actually helps to relieve some of the irritation. Again, I should stress that it's not the be all and end all. If your irritation is particularly bad, I would recommend seeing a medical professional to help understand what causes it and how it can best be treated.

 5. Improve skin texture

Dry, scaly skin a problem for you? I know it has been for me. Well Rosehip Oil can help with that too! As I said, it does really help with dryness, but it can also really help with your skin texture overall. Reduce pigmentation, reduce dryness and leave your skin feeling healthier and happier. By reducing these other issues, it leaves your skin feeling soft, hydrated and supple.

I love Rosehip Oil for so many reasons and it is one of those skincare products that I just can't live with out. Luckily RosehipPLUS also has an awesome Roll On Rosehip Oil* which I chuck in my handbag to use throughout the day when my eczema flairs up, or when I have some dryness appear.

Have you tried Rosehip Oil before? What is your favourite reason to use Rosehip Oil?
