Brands I actually use: O Cosmedics

The beauty market is a hard one to navigate. With so many new brands coming out every week, working out which brands are actually worth your time, and most importantly, money, is an ever growing challenge.

So welcome to my new series, Brands I Actually Use, where I unpack the brands I love and will continue to repurchase from and why to help you work through the bullish** and find the gems. From each brand I'll also share some of my favourite products to help you get started.

Today, we are going to talk about O Cosmedics, an Australian Cosmedical skincare brand. They are one of those skincare brands that really focuses on skin health first, not quick fixes or flashy promises. Founded in Australia by skincare expert Maria Enna-Cocciolone, the brand sits in that sweet spot between cosmetic and medical-grade skincare. They use high-quality active ingredients at levels that actually do something. The philosophy is simple: support your skin properly, target the real causes of ageing and skin concerns, and the results follow naturally. It’s a no-nonsense range that’s big on science but still approachable, which is why I love it.

If you've been after skincare products that actually work, this is one of the brands that truly deliver results.

My top products?

Cleansers

I'm not always someone who likes to spend money on a cleanser, because you wash it off (and I'd prefer to spend my money on something that stays on my skin), but I really love O Cosmedics cleansers for how they feel to use and have they leave my skin feeling.
  • Nourishing Cleansing Balm: I love a cleansing balm, it is a must for me as my first step to remove make up. O Cosmedics balm goes on as a balm, is massaged in as an oil and turns to a milk with water. It is such a beautiful texture but also just removes make up so easily, leaving your skin soft and clean, but without a thick oily residue of some cleansing balms. Perfect for all skincare types, but especially dry skin.
  • Gentle Antioxidant Cleanser: The perfect second cleanse OR if you don't love a balm/oil as your step one, this would be perfect for both steps of a double cleanse. It cleanses beautifully without leaving your skin feeling stripped. It contains a V8 Peptide Complex, a blend of peptides and antioxidants to fight the five causes of aging, as well as Niacinamide to help with skin balance.

Serums

A serum is where a brand makes or breaks it for me. A powerful serum really is a game changer. O Cosmedics serums are definitely on the pricier side, but they truly do what they say they will do, and to me that's worth every penny.

  • B12 Smart Serum: the perfect serum for if you want to target anti-ageing but your skin is on the slightly more sensitive side. This is an anti-aging, calming and soothing formulation with 13 clinical actives including their V8 Peptide Complex, Niacinamide and Vitamin B12. It's perfect if you want something powerful but you don't want multiple steps in your routine. It's like an everything in one.
  • Smart Serum: This is like the next step up from the B12. It's a professional strength serum with 12 clinical actives including Stay C 50, a stable Vitamin C derivate, Niacinamide, Hydroviton Plus for long lasting hydration, and more.  It is an anti-aging and rejuvenating serum that evens out skin tone, stimulates optimum cell activity, reduces expression lines, increases skin firming and lifting, rebalances compromised skin and ultimately supports skin health and skin youth. Basically it does it all!
  • 3D Hyaluronic Acid Serum: A hyaluronic acid is a non-negotiable for me (as someone with dry skin who lives in Canberra, where it's dry and cold most of the year). This HA serum has an advanced skin delivery, meaning it penetrates quicker and deeper into the skin. It's great for reducing inflammation and hydration, making it perfect for sensitive skin and those looking to target anti-ageing as well. Another 'great for everyone' serum!

Moisturisers

Now, I will be honest, I have only tried one moisturiser from O Cosmedics, but it is BEAUTIFUL. Truly a must have in my routine. Which makes me think their others can't be bad (I've also had friends who have tried others in the range and they love them!)

  • Comfort Cream: the perfect cream for anyone with sensitive or dry skin. It's like a gentle hug for your skin in moisturiser form. It's packed with the V8 Peptide Complex again, as well as Poly-Unsaturated Essential Fatty Acids (Omegas 3, 6 and 9) and other hydration loving ingredients to really pack a punch for long-term skin hydration and supporting skin barrier function. She is thick but doesn't feel heavy on the skin and was one of my favourite facial moisturisers out of 2025.

The other essentials

There are so many other O Cosmedics products that I could talk about, but I'll conclude with two others that I feel really round out a routine from them.

  • Mineral Pro SPF 50: an SPF is a non-negotiable and if you prefer a mineral SPF, O Cosmedics do some fantastic ones. They come in an SPF30 and SPF50, with tinted options available in both. They are a Zinc Oxide based formulation to provide broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection, but they also contain Vitamin E and Kakadu Plum to give a little extra hydration and love while you wear it. They are on the thicker side (typical of a zinc based SPF) but they are lovely to use.
  • V8 Peptide Sheet Mask: I love a sheet mask and the O Cosmedics ones are great. The V8 Peptide Complex Serum saturates the mask and works behind the scenes to age proof skin, accelerate hydration and boost skin health. The sheet masks basically combine all of the hydration and anti-ageing things that O Cosmedics do really well and pack it into a powerhouse sheet mask.

Stay tuned for the next instalment of 'Brands I Actually Use', I'll be aiming to have one come out each month.

Comments

  1. O Cosmedics has been on my radar for ages, but this deep dive just bumped them to the top of my must-try list. As a fellow “skin health first” girlie with dry, sensitive skin, that Comfort Cream and 3D Hyaluronic Acid Serum are calling my name already.
