The Best Tinted Moisturiser

I've put big claims into the title of this post, but I may be about to share about the BEST tinted moisturiser I have ever tried... Does the Mecca Cosmetica Weekend Skin Hydra Skin Tint* rival every other tinted moisturiser I have tried? Keep reading to find out...

Mecca just released their latest product in their in house Mecca Cosmetica range, the Weekend Skin Hydra Skin Tint. It's been popping up all over Instagram at the moment, so I was very excited when I had the shades rock up on my doorstep.

This weightless tint claims to transforms under your fingertips revealing a burst of hydration for your skin whilst also imparting an undetectable natural-looking wash of colour.

Coverage that's ready for anything… or nothing at all. This next-generation weightless tint transforms under your fingertips revealing a burst of hydration whilst also imparting an undetectable natural-looking wash of colour to the skin. As you blend the tint adjusts to your skin tone, correcting unevenness and discolouration to deliver your most effortless skin, every day of the week.

Its key ingredients include Peruvian Theobroma cocoa seeds, a sustainable extract that acts as a shield against the harmful effects of blue light, and water, which acts as a delivery system for active ingredients and provides long-lasting hydration. It does only come in 5 shades at the moment, which in the scheme of things is quite disappointing, however being a tinted moisturiser, I have to say that not many tinted moisturiser ranges I have seen contain many shades. I was impressed that there was a fair shade, as tinted moisturisers often don't have a shade light enough for my skin. It retails for $40.

I have been testing out the Weekend Skin Tint for the last few weeks and it's safe to say I am pretty impressed. I have been wearing it as my every day 'foundation', or as an alternative to a foundation. It is a lightweight formula, that melts into the skin easily. It is definitely a lightweight formula that even skins tone, but doesn't completely cover blemishes.

I have tried a few different methods to applying, brushes, sponge and fingers, but have found that it gives the best finish and lasting power when applied with fingers. It doesn't just sit on the surface of the skin, but melts into the skin. With a tiny bit of concealer on the top of blemishes, it does give a flawless and gorgeous finish - healthy and fresh.

As for the lasting power, I have been SO impressed!!! It lasts so well. A little bit of extra glow by the end of the day, but nothing too over the top. I get very little separation through my t-zone, where I usually end up with problems. It pretty much stays in place all day.

Before this little gem, the only tinted moisturiser I've ever really loved was the Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser, which is incredible, and this moisturiser truly rivals this in my mind. It ticks all the boxes for me - fresh, long lasting and decent coverage. I am very impressed and can see this becoming a staple in my beauty routine. It has definitely become the perfect coverage for every day wear. No, it still won't be my bad skin day, or evening out foundation.

Have you tried the new Skin Tint yet? I'd love to hear what you are thinking of it! Does it tick the boxes for you too?
