Skincare that says 'YES'

I have been using a skincare brand that I have been excited about FOR YEARS for the past few months. Sunday Riley is one of those brands that I have always wanted to try, but never quite had the budget to try. I have dabbled a little bit, trying a couple of products here and there, but there have been so many products I have been dying to try for years.

Sunday Riley is a brand that is powered by science, but balanced by botanicals. Sunday Riley isn’t just the brand founder, she’s the brand formulator. Every product reflects her belief that in order for results to count, they have to be quick to show on the complexion. Her range features powerful, targeted treatment heroes designed to improve the quality of your skin. They use use advanced, clinically proven ingredients blended with balancing botanicals, for non-irritating, fast-acting formulas. They make a commitment to produce clean formulas and constantly look for ways to make our products greener.  While also looking for innovative ways to preserve products so that the preservative level is low, while keeping the formulas safe. Sunday Riley produces their products in small batches to ensure that each product is the highest of quality for you.

One thing I love about Sunday Riley is that they are a brand that doesn't focus on the 'NO'S'. Rather than giving you a list of no's, you get a list of YES! That's because they have a fundamental belief that YES is a more powerful word.

Sunday Riley believes:
  • YES, you can transform the way you feel about your skin
  • YES, you can have visible and fast results
  • YES, you can feel good about the products you are putting on your skin, because you can trust that they are made to the highest quality
As I mentioned, I have been using a number of Sunday Riley products for the last two months. While I haven't put everything to the test, YET, I wanted to share about the ones that I have been using. Mostly because I just can't wait.

Blue Moon Tranquillity Cleansing Balm

A luxurious gentle balm to cleanse, calm eczema and irritation and deeply hydrate the skin. Designed to treat dry, dehydrated, stressed or mature skin. With a base of cocoa butter, moringa butter and squalene, this balm melts into the skin sweeping away impurities, dirt and makeup. Doubling as a hydrating treatment mask, essential oils of blue tansy, german chamomile & beeswax calm irritated, dry and flaky skin, whilst clementine petitgrain improves tone, texture and clarity. Essential oils of vanilla and tangerine help relax the mind and the complexion is left clean, nourished and glowing.

Let's start with step one - cleanse/make up remover. And let me be real - this is a product that took a long time to warm up to me. I am a long time fan of cleansing balms. They are one of my go to methods of make up remover. This is like no cleansing balm I have ever used. It is thick, it is gritty and it takes a lot to melt into the skin. At first, I absolutely hated it. I like a smooth cleansing balm that melts into an oil easily, and this does not do that.

However, it's grown on me. Yes, it's a cleanser that I have to use more of to cover my whole face and remove all my make up, however it leaves my skin feeling so beautifully soft and hydrated, and the smell has really grown on me. While I am still unsure I will repurchase it, I have to say I love it right now!

Ceramic Slip Cleanser*

Working to draw out impurities and draw in essential hydration, this daily cleanser gently and efficiently sweeps away makeup, sunscreen and impurities from the skin to reveal a clean, comfortable and balanced complexion with a healthy glow.

I have never used a clay cleanser. Probably because I thought that they would dry my dry skin out even more. However, I haven't had that problem at all. I have been using this as my second cleanser, following the Blue Moon, and I have been really enjoying it. I wouldn't say that it is anything fancy or that it does amazing things to my skin, but my skin does feel clean, soft and balanced following the cleanse.

I don't know that I would purchase it again, because it's not cheap and I'd prefer to spend my money on products that are going to stay on my skin and give me lasting effects, however if I wanted to treat myself I would. It is a lovely cleanser and leaves the skin feeling lovely!

Martian Mattifying Melting Water-Gel Toner*

Banish shine, breakouts and visible pores with this innovative gel-to-water toner for skin that's out of this world. Targeted at shine and blemish-prone skin, this transformative cooling gel melts into a water toner as it is massaged into the skin. Formulated with bentonite clay to absorb excess oil and tighten pores; marshmallow and green tea to soothe redness; cucumber and witch hazel extracts to tone and antibacterial manuka, black cumin and magnolia bark extracts to balance the complexion and tackle breakouts. The perfect pre-makeup step, skin is left mattified and foundation wear extended.

This is a product I have used numerous times before and have reviewed before on my blog and it's because I really quite like it. I forget how much I like it when I don't have it in my life, but when I get it back I am shocked that I didn't repurchase it immediately.

I use this after cleansing, by putting one pump on a cotton pad and then massage it into the skin.

I find that it leaves my skin feeling matte, but not dry. It helps to calm my angry, red spots, and helps them to heal faster. It also helps to reduce my spots. It is the perfect pre-serum step, it helps to prepare my skin for using a good serum and moisturiser. It's a little gem for anyone with blemish concerns!!

Auto Correct Brightening and De-Puffing Eye Contour Cream*

A multi-tasking wonder, this genius eye cream targets all signs of aging from fine lines, puffiness and dark circles to aging blue light pollution, and instantly delivers a well-rested, youthful-looking eye area.

Now, yes, I am still young, and I am fortunate enough that I don't really have concerns about fine lines or really dark eye circles. However, puffiness is something that I do struggle with, particularly when I am over tired. I have never used an eye cream that has really given me noticeable improvements, however I do have to say that this one has been a winner. While using it I have noticed that the small bit of dark circles I do have, have started to look less dark, and my puffiness is almost non-existent. Even when I had a black eye and I expected the puffiness to be super intense, it wasn't.

What is also a winner is that I find that I only need about half a pump and with the size being 15ml, I feel like this eye cream may last me forever.

C.E.O. Rapid Flash Brightening Serum*

Suitable for all skin types, this powerful serum contains 15% vitamin C to instantly polish, and brighten skin, bestowing an instantly radiant, firmed and plumped complexion with soothed redness and sensitivity. A gentle but powerful form of vitamin C, THD ascorbate protects against aging free radical damage while strengthening collagen and smoothing skin texture for a brighter, softer and suppler complexion. It also contains Glycolic Acid to gently lift away dead skin cells and boost cellular turnover, while promoting the production of Hyaluronic Acid for softer, smoother and healthier looking skin.

If you have forgotten, I am OBSESSED with Vitamin C at the moment. I love the brightening effect it has on my skin and how healthy my skin looks while using it. I have been dying to try this serum and I have to say, I have not been disappointed.

I use this serum in the morning, following my toner and before my moisturiser and SPF. It is a thicker serum and I find I need about two pumps to cover my whole face. However, it is also very hydrating on the skin.

If you want to see the results from this guy, you need to be in it for the long haul. For at least the first month, to month and a half, I saw absolutely no change in my skin from this. It's only be in the last two or three weeks that my skin has started to looking glowier and more even. I notice it particularly in my cheeks, where my skin tone has evened out and almost don't need foundation any more. I feel like this guy could be amazing long term!

Good Genes*

In the ultimate quest for "good genes", this multi-tasking corrective treatment is a fashion week must-have to brighten, refine and plump the look of skin for an instant runway worthy glow. This daily transforming face treatment and mask is formulated with 5% purified grade, anti-ageing lactic acid, lemongrass and licorice to exfoliate and plump the look of fine lines, to reveal a brighter, smoother and more refined complexion. Long term use can help to restore the appearance of damaged and uneven skin tone, reduce the visible depth of line and wrinkles and increase skin's firmness and elasticity.

The cult favourite Sunday Riley product. This is one is a product I tried years ago, back when I first started my blog. At the time, my skin didn't love it. However, I now know why - I went TOO hard TOO fast and my skin could not handle it. This little guy is intense. I started using him much slower this tim around and now I am in love. I initially started using it once a week, at night only, and I now use it every other night. At first, I had a little bit of tingliness when I applied it, but now that is also completely gone.

I use this after my night serum and before my moisturiser, using only one to one and a half pumps, focusing on my T Zone and avoiding my eye area.

Over the last two months, I can say that this product has been a game changer. My skin texture is looking smoother and clearer, my spots clear up fast and are occurring less. When my skin is having a bit of a moment (hey hormones!) I step up my use of this and my  skin clears up much faster. I can see why this is a cult favourite and it's becoming one in my life now too.

There it is! My long a** review of Sunday Riley. I still have Juno and Luna to try and I will report back to you once I have (I am very excited to try them both). You can purchase Sunday Riley from any Mecca, or online.

Have you tried Sunday Riley before? I'd love to hear your thoughts and your favourite products! Let me know in the comments below xx
