A Surge of Moisture

I am all about trying to keep my skin look and feel hydrated. If you have been a long time reader, you will know I have skin that is on the dry side and it is something that, at times, I have really struggled with. The Clinique Moisture Surge range is designed exactly for that. Let's chat -

The Moisture Surge range is a thirst quenching range for the ultimate face and eye hydration. It is a range designed to give 72 hours of hydration, plumped skin and intense moisture for drier skin types. As they say - replenish tonight, glow tomorrow. I have been using the range on and off for the last couple of years and I am a little obsessed with it. I have used almost every product from the range, and it is one of my favourite skincare ranges.

Moisture Surge Hydrating Lotion*

What is it: A light and refreshing watery lotion that drenches skin with intense hydration.

What it does: Rapid hydration lotion instantly and intensely soothes just-cleansed skin. It is an advanced moisture complex that helps to prep the skin for acceptance of serums and creams, while also leaving the skin looking dewy-fresh, glowing and plumped with moisture.

One of the newer products to the range, this is the product that I have used for the least amount of time, but it has grown on me very quickly. It is much like an essence - I apply it straight after cleansing my skin, patting it into the skin rather than massaging or rubbing. You can also use a cotton pad if you'd prefer (but you know, less waste and what not). I love that it instantly leaves my skin feeling fresh and hydrated, without being heavy. The rest of the range then soaks into the skin really easily. I know this is a step that kind of seems pointless, but once you start with it you'll be come obsessed with how your skin feels while using it.

Moisture Surge Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate*

What is it: A supercharged, water-based hydrator.

What it does: Instantly quenches dehydrated skin with a moisture boost. It helps to keep the skin hydrated for a full 72 hours, while also helping to break the cycle of dryness and environmental stress that can lead to premature ageing.

It sounds interesting, right! It is a really unique serum that can be used after cleansing, toning or using the hydration lotion. It is a water consistency that melts into the skin, almost feeling like you are just massaging water into the skin. It leaves your skin feeling instantly hydrated. I have found this a really interesting product, because it almost feels like I am putting nothing on my face. However, I am always surprised by how much it hydrates the skin and keeps it hydrated. I do like the lightness of it because I feel like I can still use other serums alongside it (such as my AHA's and BHA's).

Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator*

What is it: An addictively refreshing gel-cream, now enhanced to give your skin the power to rehydrate itself.

What it does: Delivers an instant boost of hydration. Keeps skin almost twice as hydrated at the end of the day than it did before. Enjoy 72 hours of non-stop hydration, even after washing your face.

I should probably prempt this by saying I am onto my fourth or fifth tub of this stuff. If that doesn't tell you it's amazing, I don't know what will. It is a super lightweight gel moisturiser, which is not something that I usually associate with deep and intense hydration, but it does exactly that. I have used this both through winter and summer, it works so well. You massage it into the skin and it soaks in quickly, leaving your face almost feeling like you haven't put a thing on. However, your skin is left feeling hydrated. It's kind of weird how it works - a moisturiser that feels like nothing hydrates your skin intensely.

In winter, I do often follow up with an overnight mask before bed, to pump the skin with hydration. However in the morning it's the perfect level of hydration where your face isn't left feeling greasy and make up sits over the top, extremely well.

Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator*

What is it: A rich, oil-free cream-gel.

What it does: Plumps skin with 24-hour hydration. Instantly rehydrates. Helps repair skin's moisture barrier over time.

Ok (you know s*** is getting serious when I start a sentence with 'ok'), so this is my latest obsession. I introduced this moisturiser into my routine at the end of April, using it as my night time moisturiser. It has really changed the game for me. It is a slightly thicker version of the original hydrator, a rich cream-gel that feels like heaven on the skin. It is rich, but feels as light as air on the skin, while still being incredibly hydrating. When I have been using this at night, I wake up the following morning with my skin still feeling like it's just been doused in intense moisture. It's still lightweight enough that it doesn't clog pores or break me out. It's a game changer.

Moisture surge Overnight Mask*

What is it: A creamy, penetrating night-mask.

What it does: Helps the skin drink deep to replenish lost moisture and build reserves for tomorrow. All night long, it soothes and nourishes to help skin hold moisture. Wake up soft, dewy and glowy!

I have been using this almost as long as the original hydrator. It is a creamy night mask that is soft and feels like massaging clouds of moisture into your skin (how is that for an analogy!) It is thick, but melts into the skin easily. Through winter, in particular, I use this every other night. The rest of the year, I use it sporadically when my skin is feeling particularly dry or dehydrated. I love that when I wake my, my skin feels more hydrated. Over the long term, my skin ends up looking glowier, fresher and smoother. It is one of my staple skincare products that is almost always in my bedside table.

Moisture Surge Face Spray*

What is it: Water for your skin.

What it does: Take along a refreshing face spray for showers of thirsty skin relief. Bursting with moisture and active aloe. But not a drop of oil. Rapidly replenishes skin's moisture level, restoring balance. Softens and soothes in a flash.

The last product in the Moisture Surge that I have tried is the Face Spray. If you're a long-time reader then you will know that I have never really liked face mists or believed in them. This mist was one of the first mists that showed me they can be more than just water for your face. This mist is like an instant hydration burst for the skin. A quick spritz either before your serum, throughout the day when needed, or after make up application, and your skin will feel instantly hydrated. It is slightly thicker mist, that leaves no noticeable residue over make up, but will help to refresh the skin. I leave this guy sitting on my desk and spritz whenever needed.

So if you didn't pick up from this post, I am a little obsessed with the Moisture Surge range. It has been a real game changer for me. It is a lightweight routine, that doesn't clog pores, doesn't leave a heavy residue on the skin. It doesn't clog pores, doesn't cause me to break out, but leaves my skin feeling comfortably hydrated at all times. If you are on the hunt for a good skincare range that is hydrating on the skin, but not heavy, then this is the one for you!

They now also have three new products - the Eye 96-Hour Hydro Filler Concentrate, to keep your under eyes hydrated at all times; Lip Hydro-Plump Treatment, to instantly plump and hydrate dry and chapped lipsticks; and the Sheertint Hydrator SPF 25, a lightweight tinted moisturiser.
