Custom Blend Skincare

If you know me, you know I love anything personalised. Monogrammed handbag, custom made jewellery and now custom designed skincare. Clinique has just released an exciting new range of skincare that you can custom design to your skin needs - introducing Clinique iD*.

Clinique iD is a new range using Custom-Blend Chemistry Technology which isolates the concentrated actives in the cartridge from the base. It delivers optimised results with every pump by freshly combining the precise dose of actives and base. Hydrate and treat your main skin concerns all in one product with the new revolutionary custom-blend moisturiser. It's as easy as 1-2-3.

Step one is to choose your base. There is the classing Moisturising Lotion+ or Oil-Control Gel, as well as the new Hydrating Jelly*, each one targeted at a different skin need (from oily to dehydrated skin).

I chose the Hydrating Jelly as my base because I am loving lightweight moisturisers at the moment. The Hydrating Jelly uses 24-hour hydrator with Clean Shield Technology™ locks in the good—like moisture—and filters out the bad. It is designed to help strengthen the skin's moisture barrier and improve resiliency. It is oil free and leaves no residue on the skin. It works for all skin types.

I have been loving the consistency. It is almost a watery consistency - very wet and not a lot to it, but it just melts into the skin quickly with absolutely not residue. Your skin will be prepped for make up or to just go about your day. My dry skin loves it because it gives the moisture boost needed without feeling heavy or think and clogging my pores (leading to breakouts). To be honest, I am a little obsessed with it.

Step two is to choose your cartridge. There are five cartridges to choose from, targeting different skin concerns. To find out more about each of them, click here to read about their ingredients. I chose the Uneven Skin Tone*. It contains Japanese Angelica Root helps even tone and brighten. It also contains salicylic acid, which was the other reason I chose it. If you have dull skin, then this is the cartridge for you.

The uneven skin tone serum helps to even out your skin tone, brighten and leave your skin texture feeling soft and looking fresher. I was excited to see that this had salicylic acid in it, which is great for targeting acne and blemishes.

Step three is to insert your cartridge into your base and then away you go. It's as simple as twisting the cartridge into the base bottle. Then you just use it as you would a moisturiser. I use one to two pumps to cover my whole face (the moisturise jelly really goes a long way). What I love about this is that it ensures you end up with the right balance of serum to moisturiser. You don't have to worry about getting the balance, it does all the effort for you.

I have been absolutely loving this new product from Clinique. I have used about half the bottle (almost) and have been using it morning and night for about a month. My skin is definitely looking brighter and the skin tone and colour has evened out. Redness reduced and just feeling hydrated and happy. I love that on nights where I am really lazy or mornings where I slept in, I can use this without having to worry about extra serums. I know that I will end up with targeted skincare with just one product in my routine.

The base and the cartridge cost a total of $60, which I think is SUPER reasonable. The moisturisers by themselves typically cost $49 by themselves. You essentially get a serum for $11 (unheard of!) The innovation of this and the ability to take your skincare into your own hands is the best and I can't wait to see what Clinique does next from this.

Have you tried the new Clinique iD products yet? Which cartridge did you choose? Or would you choose? Let me know in the comments below.
