Seven Apps I Am Currently Loving

Let's keep the tech theme going for this week. I have been using some really interesting apps on my phone recently that I have been loving and just had to share about it.

If you missed it, I was talking about my favourite Netflix shows and movies on Monday, head over now and check it out if. But now let's talk apps. There is a mix of apps that I have been using recently. Health and fitness, great companion apps for Instagram and shopping apps (that I have to share because this no-buy is bloody hard.

Health and Wellbeing

Qantas Wellbeing

As some of you might have noticed, I have been trying to increase my fitness and make working out a habit. I have basically been trying to increase my active-ness in general. Some times I need a little encouragement for this, so this app has been brilliant. Essentially what it is, is an app run by Qantas, where you receive Qantas Frequent Flyer Points for working or completing goals. For example, if I hit my goal steps, I receive 15 points. If I hit my sleep goal (i.e. don't touch my phone between 10pm and 6am), I receive 5 points. If I complete my Activity Rings on my Apple Watch, I get 10 points. While it doesn't seem like a whole lot, it all adds up and if I do it consistently every day, even if it's just walking, I will end up with over 5, 000 points by the end of the year.

They also have partner offers with so many wellbeing partners, including Speedo, Apple, Frank Green and Blackmores.

Another one of the same kind of style as the Qantas Wellbeing, Sweatcoin is an app where you earn coins while walking. I mean, if that doesn't sound amazing, I don't know what does. Now in all fairness, you will probably have to wait a couple of years to get enough coins to get something cool like an iPhone or $1, 000, but again, every little bit counts. It doesn't count steps taken inside, as it can't verify them, but if you go for an evening walk or walk a lot outside, then this app is for you! Basically, if you need extra encouragement to walk then this might be good for you too.

My Water

Another health and fitness goal of mine has been to drink more water. The challenge is, is that sometimes I forget. I finally downloaded an app that reminds me to drink water and tracks my intake each day. While you can pay the $22 a year or something to track all liquid intake, I just use it for water. I like that it creates a goal based off how much I weigh, how old I am and how many hours I am awake for, giving me reminders throughout the day to try and get me to drink all my water before bed so I don't stay up all night on the toilet.

Sleep Orbit

If you're like me and sometimes you need a little bit of noise to help relax you and fall asleep. My challenge is that there are lots of things I don't like about sleep sounds, which is why I love this app so much. It is a 3D sound app that you get to create yourself. Essentially you get to choose what sounds you want to have and how loud or soft you want by dragging them into your sleep orbit.

With a no buy in place at the moment (well a low buy) I have been trying to be good and not spend too much, making more mindful purchases. I have also been trying to do all my purchases through the ShopBack app. ShopBack is an app (or website if you're using it on your desktop) that you can get money back by simply shopping. It's almost like getting paid to shop. Essentially you open the app or the web page and select which shop you want to shop from, shop as you normally would and then boom, you will end up receiving a percentage of your purchase of your purchase back. Now it sounds too good to be true, but it does happen. However, you do have to wait a month or two for the money to end up back (because they check for things being returned or exchanged), but then it will show up in your ShopBack account ready for you to transfer to your PayPal or Bank Account.

Photo Editing

Photoshop Lightroom

Probably my go-to editing app at the moment. Every photo I take now goes through Photoshop, for simple adjustments and touch ups, then it goes through Lightroom to correct light and colour inconsistencies and then to use my presets over the top. It is just the perfect editing app that allows you to do a little bit more. It's a great way to take your photo editing to the next level.

My go-to Instagram story editing app is Unfold. It has a great array of templates to put your photos into to give your stories an interesting mix. It is also a great way to have multiple images in your story if you're wanting to share more than one image. There are a couple of free sets, but there are a couple of interesting paid ones as well. It's good to have a differnet mix.
