Vitamin C is becoming one of the most popular ingredients in skincare at the moment. The secret to getting the glowy, luminous skin we all want. I recently put Clinique's Fresh Pressed™ Daily Booster* to the test.
The Fresh Pressed™ Daily Booster is an interesting product. It is designed to be used in addition to your skincare routine, not as an extra step. This excited me, because I have been really happy with my skincare routine at the moment and didn't want to swap something out to try this. It is designed to be mixed into your moisturiser for a week to boost luminosity in your skin, leaving it looking refreshed and rejuvenated.
But why Fresh Pressed? Fresh means powerful. Pure Vitamin C naturally degrades when exposed to
oxygen, so it's most powerful when fresh. Stay-fresh packaging isolates
the pure Vitamin C until activation, maintaining its freshness and full
power for maximum results.
It is pretty simply to use. When you take it out, you simply remove the foil and push down on the bulb at the top twice. This will release the Vitamin C powder into the emulsion. Then shake for 15 seconds. You will need to shake it for 15 seconds before each use, otherwise it will be grainy and powder, which is not what you want! Then just push the bulb to get the drops out and mix it in with your moisturiser. It's as easy as that! After 7 days you then dispose of the bottle.
Now, I read those instructions and tried them that way, but then decided I wanted to use it a little bit differently. I actually applied this by itself before I applied my moisturiser. I used it both morning and night as a serum, instead of mixing it in with my moisturiser. I didn't have any irritation or anything and was actually really impressed with the results.
Being something you only use for a week I was not expecting to see dramatic results. I can't say I have used many products that show dramatic or even noticeable results within a week. By the end of the week I noticed that my skin had a visible improvement in regards to smoothness and luminousity. My skin was glowing! I think it was the best my skin had looked in a long time. While I have been using Vitamin C for about a month now, this little week long boost was the extra kick my skin needed. I can see this having a great long term effect if the results after 1 week were that good!
One vial retails for $35, or you can get a set of 4 for $100. While it is slightly pricey seeing as you only get four weeks out of them, but you could use it every second week, or save it for when your skin just needs a pick me up. Either way, it is safe to say I have been really impressed with this little vial and I will be stocking up soon!
Have you tried the Fresh Pressed™ Daily Booster yet? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below! xx
