The Foundation Files: L'Oreal Infallible Pro Glow

Welcome back to another Foundation Files! Today I am going to be talking about a recent release from L'Oreal Paris. This has been out in the US for a while now, but has only just come out in Australia.

Before we start, I just wanted to give you a little overview of what you can expect from all of my Foundation Files posts (if you've read a Foundation Files before, you can probably skip this, unless you need a little recap). In each review I will give you photos of my skin before application, immediately after application and at the end of the day. I will talk about how I prep my skin before applying, as well as the method that I use to apply. I will also talk about the coverage and finish, as well as how well I think it wears throughout the day. Now as for my skin type (which will impact what I think of foundations) I have dry/normal skin. I do have blemish and pigmentation concerns, particularly in my T-Zone. Without further adieu, let's get into it!

I have heard so much hype about the L'Oreal Paris Infallible Pro Glow. I grabbed it when it was 40% off at Chemist Warehouse to try it out. Everyone I knew who had used it raved about it and I hadn't heard a single negative review. So what could go wrong?!

The Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation claims to be a lightweight, hydrating foundation that gives the skin a luminous glow, while staying fresh all day. It claims to last 24 hours, giving your skin that healthy glow - the benefits of a longwear foundation, combined with a glowy finish. The shade range isn't huge, with only six shades available at Priceline...a bit of a disappointing range considering they have 14 shades in their True Match range. I originally grabbed the shade, 201 Classic Ivory, which is a tad light for my summer skin, but will be perfect for summer. I have since picked up the shade 202, Creamy Natural which is perfect for my current skin colour.

The foundation comes in a squeezy tube that is relatively easy to use. It has quite a runny consistency, which works well with the tube packaging. Before I apply the foundation I do prime my skin and I have a couple of different options. L'Oreal released a new range of primers with this foundation, including the Anti-Redness, Mattifying and Luminizing Primer. I only have the Luminizing Primer, so I can't comment on how the foundation goes with the other two primers. Depending on the glowy finish I want I will use a couple of different primers. If I want a super glowy look, I will go for the L'Oreal Paris Infallible Luminizing Primer, which helps give that extra lit from within glow. If I want more of a muted, healthy glow I have been loving the Australis Primer, which is just a simple, hydrating primer.

To apply I put a small amount of the foundation on the back of my hand and then use a sponge to apply and blend the foundation into my skin. It is a really lightweight, runny consistency, but when you apply it the coverage is surprisingly impressive. I would say it is a medium, but buildable coverage. The finish is glowy, but not oily. It just gives your skin that gorgeous, healthy look. As I've mentioned in previous Foundation Files, I don't set with a powder, however I do give a bit of a spray with the MAC Prep+Prime Fix+ Spray* to finish.

Now for the real question - how does it last? Honestly, extremely well. I do apologise that the lighting of the 'after' photo is not as clear as the others, but I may have been running late for basketball on test day. Yes, it does go shiny at the end of the day, so I would not necessarily recommend this to oily skin (however, as I have dry skin I haven't tested it with a mattifying primer, so I don't know how it goes), but I still think it looks good at the end of the day. This has become my go-to work foundation as I know I can apply it and it will last and look good all day. I do find that it does transfer, so I just have to be conscious of that throughout the day. It lasts through sweat too, did I mention that? And still looks pretty good afterwards!

I think I have found a new holy grail foundation. I actually picked up two more bottles from the 40% off Big W sale because I have been loving it so much. Like most people I've heard, I can't find a negative thing to say about it aside from the transferring, which may stop if you use a powder to set. The coverage is really good, the lasting power is amazing and it costs less then $30. L'Oreal has nailed it with this foundation.

Have you tried the L'Oreal Infallible Pro Glow Foundation? Let me know what you think of it in the comments below xx
