Herbs & Heart Face Mud

Herbs & Heart Face Mud

Cleanser, mask, exfoliator? Everything in one? I was very intrigued when the Face Mud* arrived on my doorstep. A very different, but interesting product, like nothing I have ever tried before.

Herbs & Heart was developed from a desire to have skincare products with ingredients the normal person could actually understand. H+H to us is the opportunity to empower the consumer. We see a future where you can have it all. Flip over your product, and actually understand what it is you are reading. Be fully informed on the key bio actives in your skincare, and how they are benefitting your skin. Stand up to corporations who have put blinders over your eyes, fillers in your products and charged you their weight in gold.

What is Face Mud* I hear you asking? It is an earthy blend that works to gently exfoliate & remove embedded dirt, whilst potent bio-actives deliver deep nourishment & hydration. It combines three ingredients - Manuka Honey, Orange Peel & Sandalwood. Manuka Honey activates to natural hydrogen on contact with water, drawing out impurities deeply embedded within the skin, whilst delivering a healthy dose of Amino Acids and B vitamins to provide an added anti-ageing benefit. Gentle powders of Sandalwood & Orange Peel work in tandem to provide gentle exfoliation, scrubbing away dead skin cells to reveal bright, glowing skin hit with a dose of pure Vitamin C. For added nourishment, we have combined the hydrating properties of Coconut, Aloe Vera & Apricot, to leave your skin feeling supple, soft and brand new.

Now there are a couple of difference ways you can use it. It is a bit like a cleanser and exfoliator in one. A gritty cleanser to remove make up and remove dirt that is stuck in your pores. What I do is take a small clump of the Face Mud (I find using a spatula or spoon to get it out, I think that is the easiest way to get it out) and then massage it between wet hands until it forms a paste. Then I massage it on my skin in small circles to activate some of the gentle exfoliation. You can either rinse it off, or leave it on as a mask for a desired amount of time (I leave it on for between 5-10 minutes, though you can opt for longer if you wish). Then you just rinse it off. It's as simple as that!

Herbs & Heart Face Mud

I have been really enjoying this product. It is simple and easy to understand but works really well. While I don't use it as my every day cleanser, when my skin is in need of some extra attention this is my go-to. I love that you can use it as a simple cleanser - removing the last remnants of make up and getting the dirt and grime out of your pores, or as an exfoliating mask, to get deeper into your pores and leave your skin feeling soft and clean. It works really well either way and every time I use it my skin feels so soft, clean and fresh, but not in the dry way a lot of exfoliators leave my skin feeling. Just supple and beautiful. While it has taken me a little while to get used to the smell (which in my eyes is a tribute to the natural contents), but all in all it is a fantastic little jar of mud.

Adding this to my skincare routine has been a huge help. It has definitely helped with my skin texture, which has been a big concern for me recently. If you're looking for the next best natural cleanser/multitasker, then I would highly recommend trying this one out!
