Clarins Spring Make Up Collection

Clarins Spring Make Up

Spring is here!!!!! I mean, you wouldn't know it in's still bloody cold, but it's September which means spring and I am ok with that for now! I love spring, because it means I get to revamp my make up a little bit. I am going to be doing a couple of spring inspired make up posts featuring new and exciting releases from some killer brands.

Today we will be talking about Clarins Spring Make Up Collection!
Clarins Spring Make Up Collection has a particular focus on contouring this year, but I do also want to talk about a few other cool make up products that you can pick up at the moment as well.

3D Eyes

The eye contour shapes up with the graphic line of a pencil, while the eyelids shimmer in a play of light and shade.

4-Colour Eyeshadow Palette* (05 Smoky)

The eye shadows in this palette contain sensory mineral textures with immediate results that allow adjustable, smooth and high-resistance makeup while nurturing the eyelids. Satin, matte or iridescent, the eyeshadows can be mixed and matched for your desired look.

Want to create the perfect smoky eye? Well this palette has three richly pigmented charcoal eyeshadows, and one lighter shade. The perfect quartet to creating a beautiful, dark smoky eye. I was quite impressed with the pigmentation of these and while I was unsure about the grey tones, I have to say they do make the perfect smoky eye. If you want to intensify the look, use a damp finger or brush to get a stronger pigmentation.

4-Colour All-in-One Pen*

Clarins’ all-in-one make-up pen has 4 retractable colors: 3 for eyes (Black, Brown, Indigo Blue), 1 for lips (Natural Beige) so you can shape and define eyes and lips in a click. Keeps all of your liners in one place. Pop it into your pocket or purse for easy lining any time.

One of the most innovative make up products I have seen recently! I am seriously in love with this pen. It comes with three eye liner colours, and one nude lip colour and is such a clever way to keep all your liners in one place. It is so versatile - can be used for subtle looks, or to build up into a gorgeous smoky eye. Simply click the shade you want (just like you would have with your four colour pen at school), twist the pen a couple of times to get the pencil to come out, and away you go. It is the perfect size for travel, or to carry in your hand bag, but also not so small that you are fumbling through bags to find your liner.

Now that you have got your smoky eye all perfect, and have lined it to get even more definition, it's time for a shimmery finish....

Ombre Iridescente*

Clarins' cream-powder eye shadows segue from pearlized for day, to high-intensity shimmer after dark. A creamy, powdery texture which goes on with the finger to brighten eyes with shimmery reflections. Mattifying bamboo powder ensures long-lasting results.

Looking for the perfect shimmer? Well these are your answer. They come in seven different shades and I have been using three of them - 08 Silver White, 09 Silver Rose, 10 Silver Grey. I don't find that they go on super pigmented, but they do build into an absolutely gorgeous shimmer, making them perfect for a day or night look. They also last so damn long!! If you are looking for that perfect finishing touch to your eye look, I would highly recommend these.

Contouring Perfection

Clarins has just released a brand new contouring palette, the Face Contouring Palette. They wanted to invite women to a super-simple contouring session, make up 'made easy' so that every lady could get the perfect, flattering contour day in and day out.

This trio consists of three shades:
  • A matte highlighter - to give volume and light to the face.
  • A matte shading powder - to shade and deepend contours.
  • A fresh rose blush (with mild shimmer) - for that healthy glow touch.

Clarins Spring Make Up Face Contouring Palette

They are classified as universal, easy-to-use shades and I have to say, I have been loving it. It definitely makes contouring easy. The powders are pigmented, but not to the point where you are going to end up with huge, hard to blend splodges on your face. When I saw the shading powder, I was worried that the under tones looked very warm, and would not suit my skin tone, however I am obsessed. Sometimes, if I just want that warm glow I will just wear this without the blush for a gorgeous, warm glow. The highlighter is matte, designed to brighten the darker areas of the face rather than give you that 'poppin' highlight, but again I have been really enjoying how it seems to just lift my high points. I didn't expect it to have as much of an effect as it does. I have been obsessed with all three powders though and I think this will be my go-to travelling face palette, because it has everything I need.

It also comes with a small, natural hair brush, specifically designed for contouring. I do have to say I don't love the brush, I can see that it was a great idea, I just prefer fluffier and bigger brushes when I am contouring and doing my face.

If you are looking for some good spring make up, or just needing to spice things up a bit with the new month upon us I would definitely recommend trying any of these products out. This is my first time trying out Clarins make up and I have to say I am in love with them and am definitely planning on trying out some more now!
