L'Occitane // Shea Intensive Hand Balm
Formulated with a very high concentration of 25% shea butter to provide intense nourishing care, it forms a protective film for skin that is very dry or uncomfortable due to environmental aggressions (cold, air conditioning).
This is one of the thickest hand creams I have ever used, but I have to say that I have been loving it. While it is thick it feels like it just melts into your hands, leaving you with the most hydrated hands. I think to use this in the evening right before bed, as it does leave my hands feeling a little bit oily, which annoys me a little bit during the day (anyone else had getting oily hands all over your laptop and phone?), but it is the perfect way to wake up with hydrated hands. At $46 it is a little pricey, but I have to say the tube is HUGE and I can see that this is going to last me a long time.
Medik8 // Hydr8 B5 Hand Cream SPF15*
Another really thick hand cream that I love to use at night (despite the fact that it has SPF in it...). I have been loving this hand cream a lot. It has HA and Vitamin B5 to give your hands as much hydration as they need. It doesn't have quite as oily a finish as the L'Occitane, but is so hydrating. Massage it into your hands, leave it for 5 minutes and your hands won't feel oily at all. In saying that, I do tend to use it more at night than morning, mostly because I prefer to use a lighter hand cream during the day. At $49 it's the most expensive of them all, but also probably my favourite because of just how hydrating it is! Also it has HA in it, so you know it's going to be good!A deeply hydrating hand cream that offers comprehensive protection against environmental aggressors. Formulated with advanced anti-pollution technology, it limits exposure to everyday pollutants such as cigarette smoke, motor emissions, industrial fumes and particle matters, whilst broad spectrum UV shields against UVA and UVB rays to effectively prevent photoageing.
The Body Shop // Almond Milk and Honey Hand Cream
This is the perfect hand bag hand cream. It is small but mighty and the cheapest of the lot at just $10. I love this stuff though, just like I love the whole Almond Milk and Honey range. It smells divine and is so hydrating and gentle on my skin. It is quite light in consistency, almost gel like and soaks into your skin extremely quick. While I don't find the hydration as long lasting as the other two, I find this perfect to apply throughout the day as it doesn't leave my hands feeling oily, so I don't feel like I am covering my laptop in a fine layer of oil as I type.An essential for sensitive skin on the go, protect and soothe dry hands with this calming and caring new hand cream. Enriched with organic almond milk from Spain and Community Trade honey from Ethiopia, Almond Milk & Honey is specially formulated for sensitive, dry skin.
Organic Island // Nourishing Hand Créme*
Expertly formulated to heal, hydrate and protect your hands, ensuring a more youthful appearance. Non-greasy and lightweight, this superior formula is instantly absorbed, transforming tired, dry skin and leaving hands renewed, soft and supple.
Mecca Cosmetica // Transforming Hand Cream
Our Hands On Transforming Hand Cream truly has the magic touch, restoring and rejuvenating the hardest working hands, leaving them feeling superbly soft and beautifully smooth. Infused with our skin nourishing Mecca Elixir Luxury Oil, this cream formula is luxuriously rich but never greasy. Subtly scented with a beautifully feminine fragrance blend of hyacinth, crisp green apple and vanilla, hands will look and feel absolutely beautiful.
I have just discovered, as I am writing this post, that Mecca no longer stocks this hand cream. Sorry...WHAT MECCA?! This is one of my favourite hand creams ever. It smells amazing and is so hydrating, but doesn't leave your hands oily at all and is just amazing. It feels like velvet when you massage it in your skin and I just could never fault it. Luckily I have one more full tube, but if you happen to find it in any Mecca stores, I highly recommend that you pick one up!! You will not be disappointed.
So those are just my top five hand creams. I have so many on the go at the moment, but these are what I have been reaching for most lately. What hand creams have you been loving through winter? xx

ReplyDeleteHow good is it!!! I love it so much xx
DeleteIt really is cold! I feel for you poor Canberra folk, -8 isn't nice! I've been going back & forth between Botani's Olive Hand Cream & Lanolips' Rose Everyday Hand Cream this winter. I like both but the Lanolips one is cheaper, easier to find in store + it's thicker in texture (but not so thick you can't work it in).
ReplyDeleteIt is so cold haha but we get used to it!! Ooo they both sound lovely, I haven't tried either of these before xx
DeleteNude by Nature used to put out a lovely hand cream that was orange scented and I loved that but sadly it is no more. Ive been using the QV hand cream...it doesnt have a scent but its wonderfully hydrating.
ReplyDeleteOoo it would've been lovely, that scent sounded amazing! I do love QV hand creams, I love anything QV though!! xx
DeleteI love the sound of The Body Shop one! I must admit I don't bother with hand creams as much as I should. I'm a bit lazy!

DeleteI just love hand creams! I'm using Enbacci at the moment - Dry Touch Moisturising Finish. It's great for working in an office because it doesn't take forever to soak into your skin!

Oooo yes, I have that one too and it's so nice! I haven't used it very much though! xx
DeleteOh my god I really don't miss those cold Canberra mornings. I remember waking up at 6am every Saturday to brave the Farmers Market and it was hellish! I used to come home and jump straight back into bed! Really nice roundup of your favourite hand creams - the only two I have tried from your list are The Body Shop Almond Milk + Honey hand cream and the L'Occitane Shea Butter hand cream. I buy myself the little tube for around $12 and it lasts me ages! I love how thick it is - and you're totally right - it's the hand cream to use before bed as it is a little greasy. I love to rub it into my nails and cuticles as well. Life changer!
