Brand Focus || Vagheggi

It's time for another Brand Focus! In the spotlight today is Vagheggi Phytocosmetics. Vagheggi is an Italy skincare brand that uses completely natural cosmetics and phytocosmetics. Their products are now available in over 60 cosmetics, including Australia. Changing up the tradition of natural cosmetics with the most advanced technologies, their concept of 'unique' is based on a selection of raw materials based on their geographic origins, concentration of their active ingredients, seasonality and harvesting method. There is a thorough and meticulous selection process, with each ingredient and element chosen with a specific product or need in mind. In other words, a choice of qualitative excellence that refuses standardisation.

With their release recently taking place in Australia, I have been lucky enough to try out some of the products from the Lime Vitamin C Line. This range is designed to protect the skin from attack by free radicals, with a guaranteed regenerating effect on stressed skin, that could cause early ageing. Vitamin C, as I have discussed in an earlier post, is great for
boosting collagen in the skin, which helps with skin hydration and density, and also helping to provide UV protection to the skin. This range is versatile to be used throughout the year, and on both young and mature skin. Also, it is perfect for post-summer after we have been out soaking up the suns rays, to prevent the drying and harsh effects of sun damage on the skin. Now lets talk about the active ingredients in these products:

  • Stabilised Vitamin C: which helps to protect the skin from deterioration. It is absorbed into the skin extremely quickly, stimulating collagen synthesis, along with preventing skin damage.
  • Whole Juice of Calabrian Blond Orange: Extracted from both the flesh and the skin of the orange, the whole juice guarantees high concentrations of stable Vitamin C. The extraction technique (pasteurisation) also preserves B group vitamins, Vitamin A, moisturising amino-acids and protective flavanoids.
  • Lime butter and Essential Oil: Native to Mexico, it is nourishing and has soothing effect on the skin, reducing discomfort and bringing relief.
  • Orange Blossom: Perfect for toning, restoring and regenerating the skin. It is also ideal for dry and sensitive skin.
  • Calendula Oil: A nourishing oil, perfect for dry and delicate skin. It helps to heal scars and also soothe the skin.
  • Jojoba Oil: Rich in natural antioxidants and quickly absorbed into the skin, it is nourishing and protects the skin.

Vitamin C Micellar Cleansing Lotion for Face and Body*

The first product I have been trying is the Micellar Cleansing Lotion. Not a milk, not a toner, but rather a clear, transparent micellar lotion. It is ideal for cleansing and freshly moisturising the skin, all in a delicate, water-based formula - designed to be handy and quick. I spent a lot of time looking at this product going 'how does this work?!'. I am used to a micellar lotion being in a bottle that you pour onto a cotton pad and swipe across your face, but this is in a spray bottle.

After much deliberation, I decided I would use it post-cleansing. Meaning, I would cleanse my skin, then pat dry. Following that, I would spray this over my face so there was a visible layer on my skin, leaving it for a few seconds before wiping away with a cotton pad, or a damp face cloth. It definitely helps to break down any left over make up, or cleanser, and prepare the skin for the following skincare products. If nothing else, it is also a really refreshing way to calm the skin after cleansing (which can often be quite a harsh step).

Zinc + Orange Mineraliser*

I have been using this product a bit like a facial mist or toner. Straight after wiping off the Micellar Cleansing Lotion, I spray this on to my face and neck, letting it soak in before applying anything else over the top. Look, I won't lie to you, I don't believe in facial mists, I have never had one that I have seen amazing results with, besides an instant burst of refreshment in my skin. I do like this Mineraliser, I find it super refreshing and if my skin is feeling dry or tight, a quick spritz of this and my skin does feel refreshed again. I don't see it as an amazing, long term product, but rather one that works well in conjunction with others to keep the skin hydrated. It does sit on my desk though, for when I need my skin to be re energised throughout the day.

Vitamin C Fluid*

The final product I have been using from this range is the Vitamin C Fluid. It is a fluid emulsion, with Whole Juice of Calabrian Blond Oranges, that is an intensive treatment for stressed skin. The Mexican Lime Butter, also helps to improve tone and compactness, leaving the skin looking radiant.

This is honestly my favourite product of the three. It smells amazing, and my skin has been loving it. Particularly as my skin has been a bit dry lately, this lotion helps to hydrate and refresh my skin. I have noticed my skin looking calmer and definitely brighter. I can't wait to see the prolonged effect of using this lotion in my skincare routine, because after a month, I have already noticed a huge improvement.

Overall, I actually really enjoy this range. They are simple and innovative products that are easy to use and have been effective in hydrating and restoring my skin. While I can't comment on whether it has helped increase my skins density or anything like that, I enjoy them alone for their calming and restoring qualities. They also smell so refreshing to use, and I find them perfect to wake myself and my skin up in the morning. Their packagin is also gorgeous! They have definitely intrigued me into wanting to try more from Vagheggi now!
