Now, you must know - I am not going to share my dress in here, Dave might be sneaky and read the post and I can't be sharing it now, it must be a surprise! While I will share some little ideas about what I like, I will be doing my absolute best not to give too much away. As much as I want to share it will you and make you all see how beautiful it is, I can't, because I need it to be a surprise on the day!
So I went into my first, and only dress fitting, with a fairly clear idea of what I wanted my dress to be and look, my dress isn't what I ever thought I would pick. There are some similarities to my inspiration, but it is also very different!
What did I want? Lace. I knew from the get go that I wanted some sort of lace. I love lace and the intricate detail. In the bodice, on the bottom of the skirt, in the veil. I need lace lace lace! I also really liked the idea of having pearls, or some sort of diamante stitched through the lace as well, creating this little shimmer. Imagine how beautiful that would look! Being an Autumn wedding, also because I absolutely hate strapless dresses, I wanted sleeves. I loved the idea of long, sheer sleeves, or even cute little cap sleeves. Finally, as for the style, I thought that the A-Line style would suit me best. I tried on some more fitted designs and I looked awful, poking out in the wrong places and it just did not flatter my figure at all!
This is what I was thinking and what I was considering when I went to shop for my dress. You'll have to remember these 13 months down the track when I finally share a picture of my dress! I can't wait to share it will you all!
Here are some pictures (courtesy of Pinterest!) that I used as inspiration when I was hunting for 'The One'. Head over to my Pinterest if you'd like to check out all my Wedding Inspiration!
And finally, for all my Rose Gold loving followers, here is a beautiful set of shoes that I found and really want to buy, that could also make beautiful wedding shoes!!
I hope you enjoyed a snapshot into my Wedding Dress! Do let me know what wedding post you'd love to see next xx
Please note: the photos in this post are from Pinterest and I do not claim to own these in any way.

I can't wait to share all about it! I am so sad I have to wait another 13 months to share :'( xx
DeleteEven though I'm not engaged or close to being married haha I know that I want lace as well. I want a structured top with either a mermaid tail or A-line. For me though, I'm more of a fine lace person (think French lace - drool!) So I don't think I'll go for a lace that's more chunky if you know what I mean (I'm not describing this very well haha).
ReplyDeleteHahaha it's funny that we just want what we want! As much as I said I wanted all these things, my dress isn't like any of the inspiration I've shared....I'm so excited about sharing it! xx
DeleteLoving the dress inspiration Laura! If I were to ever get married (and that's a MAJOR IF since I am nowhere near that point at all - don't even have a man for a start!) I'd want a sleeved dress as well. Maybe not with lace since I'm not a fan of it, but something elegant, classy & A-line with a fitted top would be perfect for me.
ReplyDeleteIt'll happen one day!!! That is pretty much exactly what I wanted! And while there are some similarities between that and my actual dress, it is also completely different haha xx
DeleteThose wedding dress inspiration pictures are beautiful ! My best friend is getting married in November and was the same when getting her dres - she ended up getting something she never thought she would have wanted but ended up loving it!
