May Favourites

It's that time of the month again! Favouritesssss! I have some make up and skincare and haircare, plus a little extra favourites section at the bottom!! So lets get to it!

Make Up

Sleek Make Up Face Form Contouring Kit $22 - So I won this as a prize from Sleek Make Up Australia earlier on in May and have been using it every day since! It is the perfect kit for contouring and highlight AND it has a blush!! It is so pigmented and beautiful and it suits my skin tone perfect. I am using the light palette, but they do also come in fair and dark. The blush actually reminds me a lot of the Nars Orgasm blush #dupealert!

It Cosmetics CC Cream, Your Skin But Better $58 - Guys!! I finally got it!!! I dived straight in and ordered this when it went on sale on and I am so glad I did. I got the colour light, and it is a tiny bit too dark for me, but it does soak in and match my skin colour a little better after I apply it. Also blending in some concealer that is lighter than the CC cream helps too. It provides an amazing light coverage, that is hydrating and lasts all day. It helps to cover blemishes and even out skin tone. It has become my go-to 'foundation' (I put foundation in quotations because it isn't really a foundation) for the days when I don't need/want a full face. (Also I've had a lot of requests about more details on this product so I will be doing a post about this product soon!)

Red Earth Perfect Touch Finishing Powder $34 - It can't be a favourite without Red Earth can it...but I love this finishing powder! I have actually replaced my NARS Luminous Foundation Powder with this powder. I find I get a similar finish - slightly matte, but still with a luminous glow. It is great for setting make up and helping to maintain oiliness in the skin.

Musq Replenish Serum $59 - For dry skin, this serum is amazing! I have been using it for about a month now and loving it! It leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated, without feeling overly oil like some oils/serums. I find that I only need 1, maybe 2 pumps to cover my whole face. The smell reminds me of these jelly lollies I used to eat as a child, I can't remember what they were but this serum definitely smells like lollies!

Origins Drink Up Overnight Face Mask $39 - Love. It. It wouldn't be a favourites this month without including this in here. My skin, as I keep saying, has been so dry and using this at night (and sometimes in morning as well) keeps my skin feeling fresh and hydrated, helping to get rid of my dry flakiness. This overnight mask is honestly a must have for anyone and everyone.

Mitchum No White Marks Gel Deodorant $12.95 - who would have ever thought that gel deodorant would wind up being in my favourites. Gel deodorant...honestly love it! It feels refreshing and keeps you smelling fresh ALL day. Thanks to Beauty Heaven for letting me be apart of the trial for this product too!

Klorane Nettle Dry Shampoo $14.95 - Like I said in my May Empties, this is the only dry shampoo that has ever done anything for my oily hair. I spray this on before I go to bed and then again in the morning and it helps to reduce the oil in my hair and allow me to get a few more days in between washes. Truly a god send!!

Besides skincare and make up, my next big love is reading! I thought I might start including my favourite books I read each month into my favourites as well!

You by Caroline Kepnes If you're into thrillers, this one is great! It's totally creepy and makes your skin crawl at times, but also so addictive, you honestly won't be able to put it down until you find out what is going to happen! Stephen King loves it, I love it, and you will to!!

Brooklyn by Colm Tóibín This was the first book I finished reading in the month of May. After I saw the movie I had to read the book! Thank goodness I did, because the book is way better (and way different) to the movie! It starts off with Eilis in her home town in Ireland before her big move to Brooklyn for work. It takes you on an emotional rollercoaster of the many emotions you feel when moving away from home, of falling in love and understanding loss. It is an easy and quick read and I loved it! I do wish that we got to hear more about her and Tony at the end, but hey I'm a hopeless romantic!

This Must Be The Place by Maggie O'Farrell I was lucky enough to receive an early proof copy of this book from Hachette Press. It follows Daniel Sullivan as he discovers something about a girl he once loved. It was hard to get into at first, as it changes characters and times fairly frequently, but once you're in it is such a great story. Love it!

  1. I look forward to your IT cosmetics CC review! I think that it will be my next purchase, although I'm a bit concerned if the light will be too dark for me too, especially since winter is here.

    1. Yea the light is slightly too dark for me, I kind of wish I'd bought the fair. In saying that it doesn't make me look orange, just slightly more tan. I lighten it up with concealer here and there though :) xx
