Trash Talk

Time to talk trash...I don't mean literally trash, but April empties! April was a month of buying lots of new products, but I can't say I've been through a whole lot of products, though there have been a lot of samples! Lets just get to it...

Full Size Products:

Nivea Double Effect Waterproof Eye Make Up Remover - $9.99
I wear a decent eyeliner and mascara almost every day and I've always found it tricky to remove them with just a normal cleanser, so I absolutely love this Nivea make up remover, it makes the job sooo much easier! Pour a little of this on a cotton pad and hold over your eye for a couple of seconds before wiping away and bam! the make up is gone. Will I repurchase it? This is like my third or fourth bottle...I think that answers that question.

Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil - $51 (colour: soft brunette)
This is my second Hourglass pencil which I picked up last September. It is super easy to fill in your eye brows, but the more I used it the more I noticed it was hard to get a precise line as the pencil didn't always have a sharp edge to draw the precise line with. It does have like the perfect colour though and the handy pencil, with the brush on the other end. Will I repurchase it? At this stage, no. I'm currently using a Maybelline palette which I am finding much easier to get precise lines.

Lush Yoga Bomb Bath Bomb - $8.95

Oh wow, this bath bomb is amazing! I never thought I would find a bath bomb that beat the intergalactic for me, but this one comes pretty close! It is so super calming and cleansing, leaving your skin soft and hydrated! It is also SOOOO glittery! It's orange and has bursts of blue and purple and I am in love with it. Will I repurchase it? Yes, yes, a million times yes.

Experimenter Bath Bomb - $8.95
Finally finally finally Lush has released this bath bomb in Australia! After seeing everyone in the UK posting about this one I had been dying to try it! Finally I have! First off: I didn't really like the smell when I first picked it up, but I powered through it. Once it was in the bath, the smell was different and I enjoyed it more, I could smell the hint of vanilla (my favourite scent) and I was won over!! It made the prettiest rainbow in my bath tub, with more glitter (Lush seems to currently be obsessed with glitter in their bath bombs, but I'm okay with that!) and it left my skin so soft and hydrated. Will I repurchase it? Yes, it was another win for me!

Sample Products:

I now understand they hype around this product (thanks to Mecca for sending me a sample). It is such a great treatment! The little sachet lasted me about 3 days and even in those days I noticed that my skin tone evened out and my skin was softer than it had been in ages. I rarely notice differences in my skin by using sachet samples as they usually don't last long enough, but this one did! Will I repurchase it? Yes, at some stage I hope to purchase a full bottle of this amazing milk.

Bioderma Crealine H20 Solution Micellaire Water Cleanser - from $29.95
I received this sample in my March BellaBox and was super excited to try this after hearing all the hype. I was conscious while trying this that many claim the Garnier Micellar Water to be a much much cheaper dupe of the Bioderma. In saying that, I find the Bioderma provides a much better clean and it didn't irritate my sensitive skin at all, like the Garnier sometimes does. You really only need a little bit as well! Will I repurchase it? I already have...

Aesop Camellia Nut Facial Hydrating Cream - from $49
I picked up these samples while I was in David Jones one day after my allergic reaction, when I was desperate for some hydration. This cream was a life saver at the time - perfect for sensitive skin (thank you camomile!), hydrating and it smells so fresh (thanks to the beautifully natural products). Will I repurchase it? Yes, once again, already have and I'm absolutely loving it!

Aesop Elemental Facial Barrier Cream - from $60
I was given this sample as an alternative when trying the Camellia Nut cream. I didn't like this one as much, it didn't feel as nourishing nor did it leave my skin feeling as hydrated. Will I repurchase it? No, I probably won't.

Aesop Purifying Facial Exfoliant Paste - $51
When I went into Aesop to pick up the few purchase I wanted to make to fix my skin, I was given this sample. First things first, I hate the I was really put off by it. I also struggled to clean all the exfoliant off my face (probably just because I was doing a hopeless job of it but whatever). If you've read my earlier articles you will know that I love my Frank Creamy Face Scrub and I'm yet to find something that leaves my skin as lovely as that exfoliant. Will I repurchase it? No.

Aesop Calming Shampoo - $50
Went in with huge expectations and excitement over this shampoo due to the itchiness I get on my scalp from my stupid eczema issues. Much like the exfoliant, god the smell did not sit well with me...I didn't notice any huge improvements in my hair either, which for $50 you would hope to notice. Will I repurchase it? No.

Dermalogica Charcoal Rescue Masque - $65
I have had a few samples of this lying around so I finally decided to test them out. I used them just after my allergic reaction, so I was a little hesitant and worried about what the results would be. Oh. My. God. I was amazed! It left my skin so soft and even helped to clean up the last bit of dry flaky skin I had on my forehead! It has a gentle exfoliant in it as well, which you activate to remove the mask. Will I repurchase it? Safe to say I already have and I'm so pleased with every use.

Jurlique Rose Hand Cream - $59
I received this sample in another Adore Beauty order. It was such a lovely hand cream, leaving my usually dry hands, hydrated and soft! I can't say the scent was my favourite, I'm not a huge fan of rose or floral scents, but it was still a lovely hand cream. Will I repurchase it? No, probably not. I don't usually buy hand cream for myself, I'm either gifted it or receive them as free products.

Hopefully next month there will be more full size products! I definitely have plenty to get through!

  1. Great work! I really need to try and use up a few samples this month!

    1. Thanks! I have so many! I'm trying so hard to use them up haha otherwise the stack up pretty quickly! xx
