The Skincare Makeup: Jane Iredale

I am a sucker for anything rose gold and I am easily won over by anything in pretty rose gold packaging. So when some goodies from Jane Iredale, with gorgeous rose gold packaging, arrived on my doorstep, I was very excited.
Jane Iredale make up was created by Jane herself. She was inspired to develop a makeup that was good for the skin by her career in the entertainment industry where she saw actresses and models struggling with the ill-effects of the many kinds of makeup they wore. Her experience in working with women whose careers depended on a clear complexion allowed her to see how skin disorders and sensitivities not only threatened careers, but also destroyed self-confidence.Jane's success in reaching women of all ages and nationalities is based on the belief that true makeup artistry comes not from trying to make a face conform to the latest fashion trends, but from enhancing the wearer’s natural beauty and, as a result, allowing her personality to shine.

I have used a couple of Jane Iredale products over the years, including the Smooth Affair Primer, which used to be a favourite of mine. I was very excited to able to try a few new products from them. The brands motto of enhancing natural beauty is something that I love at the moment. As my skin clears up, I am starting to opt for more natural make up, which is exactly where Jane Iredale fits in!

Dream Tint Tinted Moisturiser* // $78

A hydrating, lightweight, water-resistant tinted moisturiser with SPF15.

I tend to avoid tinted moisturisers, mostly because the colours don't suit my skin. Typically, tinted moisturisers are WAY too dark for my skin tone. I received the shade Light, which actually suits my skin tone perfectly.

The Dream Tint is quite a thick consistency, almost mousse like. I apply it with a sponge if I am feeling lazy, or with my fingers. It blends into the skin easily. I find that the coverage is very light, but it helps to cover redness and some spots. It evens out skin tone to leave it looking healthy and hydrated. It feels like you are wearing nothing at all and I have found that my skin doesn't feel dry through the day either.

Not only does it leave the skin looking gorgeous and natural, but it also lasts really well. I think it is one of those face products that looks better with wear. While it won't be an every day product for me, as I prefer a little more coverage on work days, it has been my go to on the weekend and when I don't really want to wear make up. It is quickly becoming a favourite product of mine!

GreatShape Contour Kit* // $84

I love contour palettes that have a blush shade. I am one of those people who likes to have everything in one place. If I go travelling or need to take my make up with me, I don't want to be carrying around three different products when I could just take one. This palette will definitely be my one from now on.

The GreatShape Contour Kit comes in two different shades - cool and warm - so you can customise it to your undertones. I have the warm palette and I love it. The bronze/contour shade is the perfect mix of brown tones that help to sculpt cheekbones, bronze the face and leave your face looking perfectly shaped without leaving you looking orange or over done. The highlighter shade is a matte highlighter that is great for enhance the high points on your face. I have also found it works well as a setting powder if I want to set under my eyes. Then there is the blush, which is the perfect pink shade to give your cheek that rosy glow. I have been enjoying applying the bronzer with the Contour Brush*, which is a flat, rectangular brush that is great for shaping and contouring the face. I use the Blending/Contour Brush* for blush and highlight. On another note, the brushes are SO soft and SO beautiful that I think I need to buy myself a set of them.

The best part is that the packaging is so damn slim. The slim, rose gold packaging makes it perfect for travelling, chucking it in the handbag or anything. I honestly have nothing negative to say about this little compact. I am seriously in love with it.

PurePressed Eye Shadow Rose Gold* // $36

Our highly pigmented shadows are simple to blend, sensitivity-tested and they stay put for gorgeous, crease-free, long-lasting eye colour.

While I have been trying to wear more eyeshadow recently, I don't often have time in the morning to a gorgeous, well blended look with multiple different shadows. I was quite excited by this little compact shadow that had a pretty, shimmery, gold toned shadow inside. While it is a little warmer and darker then what I often wear on an every day basis, I have been using it as an all over eye shade and loving it. I simply get a fluffy brush and put it over my eyelid, blending it out slightly. It lasts extremely well, and looks gorgeous on the skin. It would look beautiful, layered over a smokey eye to give a bit of glitz and shimmer. Again, the packaging is so slim and gorgeous that it makes it easy to travel with or pop in the back to turn an every day look into a more glamorous one on a night out!

Mystikol Powdered Eyeliner Amethyst* // $50

Create the sexy look you love with new improved Mystikol Powdered Eyeliners! The built-in brush makes a perfect line or smudged-out smoky eye. The powder/cream formula makes a shadow that won’t fade, crease or smear.

Firstly, I love the name of this little eyeliner. Mystikol? Genius. Again, it has beautiful packaging like all the Jane Iredale products, which I love. The lid turns into a brush, making it another practical product to carry with you when travelling or just on the go (can you see that I am all about products that I can take with me at the moment??). While the purple shade of Amethyst is not a shade I would typically choose, I am not against it either. Being a dark shade, it is quite easy to add into an every day, or an evening look. It is a creamy and pigmented shade that is easy to apply as an eyeliner, or blend out to create a smokey eye look as well. I am still experimenting with the purple, but I have to say I am quite enjoying it.

Just Kissed Lip Plumper Paris* // $58

Your lips look full and kissable with our top-selling tinted lip plumper. Cool mint and ginger plus special peptides give moisture and visible plumping that lasts.

Saying that I love this would be an understatement. Ever since this arrived on my door I have been living in this lip colour. It is a sheer, but buildable lip colour. It does give that slight tingly sensation that lip plumpers have when you apply it, but it leaves your lips feeling hydrated and looking fabulous. The colour Paris is just beautiful. A dark, purpley/pink tone that is perfect for autumn and perfect for every day wear. I like that I can use it as a sheer lip colour or I can build it up to be darker as well. I have been wearing it daily and taking it everywhere with me. I think I need to get some more shades!

It's pretty safe to say that my reintroduction to Jane Iredale has been an extremely positive one. I have falln in love with all of these goodies and it's clear to see that a love affair with the brand is starting (sorry bank account). Their packaging is so gorgeous and again I love the idea and background to why Jane started the brand is very much in line with where I am at with make up.

I would love to hear if you have tried any Jane Iredale products before. I need to know what I should try next. Let me know in the comments xx
