Blogmas Day 20: Festive Nail Inspiration

This year I am really getting in the festive spirit! I mean, I do every year, but this year I am getting even more into it. To take it to the next level, I am going to do some festive nails, so I wanted to share some of my top inspiration and manicure products for the perfect Christmas nails.

Let's start with some inspiration for some fun, festive nails. I love the idea of something pretty simple, with a couple of feature nails. All these images are from Pinterest:

So yes, these nails are probably a little adventurous for the amateur nail artist that I am, but there is a couple of easy ways to get cute looking nails, without having to go to the salon. Nail stickers! Yes, I was a little bit sceptical of nail stickers before I tried them out. They always seemed a little bit cheap and nasty, but they actually work quite well. Personail has lots of different cute, Christmas options that are super easy to apply. You simply buff your nails, apply the sticker, file back the excess and then apply a top coat. You can get some simple, plain colours, but they also have cute Christmas patterns. Some of my favourite are the Santa Nail Strips, Silent Night and Ho Ho Holy.

Another option is Jamberry Nails, they have a lot more variety in styles that work really well as well. The application process is a little bit more rigorous, and work best if you have their application heater. I really like the Holiday Cheer, which is a transparent design. You could stick these over a solid colour - plain or glitter.

Alternatively, if you want to go for a super simple design, you could always go for a simple colour (i.e. red or green) and then a glitter statement nail. When I am doing my nails I always start with the Mavala Nail Scientifique*, a nail strenghtener, which I apply to the tips of my nails. I find this just helps to protect my nails and keeps them healthy when I apply nail polish. I am typically pretty lazy with top coats, but I have been loving the Sally Hansen Color Therapy Top Coat lately. Next up is your choice of colour, I will probably go for a red on Christmas day. One option is the O.P.I Adam Said It's New Years Eve, a fun bright red. For my statement nail I can't go past Kester Black Comet or Dasher, possibly the most beautiful glitter polishes I have ever owned. Then I will finish with the Sally Hansen Kwik Dry Top Coat, which is the bomb for a quick drying top coat, which means you won't be left waiting for hours for your polish to dry!

Well that's my nail inspiration, I'd love to hear if you have plans for festive nails! Let me know in the comments xx
