Braun Satin Hair Brush 7

While winter means we can whip out the knit wear and indulge in as much tea and hot chocolate (with alllll the mini marshmallows) as we want. We also have an excuse for super hot bubble baths. However, winter also brings a number of issues for our hair. Static, straw like hair ruined by the wind, split ends and dry, itchy scalp. Today, I want to introduce you to my winter hair saviour, and also offer some of my top tips to keeping your hair silky soft through winter!

Let's start with my winter life saver though. I recently received the Braun Satin Brush 7* to try out and I won't lie to you, I was sceptical. How could a hair brush really offer so many improvements to your hair? It seemed a little gimmicky. Though I was very quickly won over. After just a few uses, I was so surprised by how soft my hair was feeling (to the point where my partner kept laughing at me because I wouldn't stop touching my hair). But let's talk about what the brush does before we get into the results.

What is the Braun Satin Brush 7* I hear you ask. Great question. First off, it is NOT a hair straightening brush. It does not use heat in anyway, it is just a pretty cool hair brush. What it does do is use IONTEC to bring out shine all while beating frizz and shine. It is not the first hair brush to use IONTEC to do this, however unlike other ion hair brushes, which bury the ions into the hair brush, the Satin Brush is actively producing millions of ions, pushing them through the little green jets on the back (pictured below). You can actually hear them working if you listen closely enough. All those ions infuse your hair, beating static and frizz for instantly visible shine. They help transport moisture from the surrounding air back into your hair. Which is a very healthy thing to do. It is a really gentle hair brush with seamless bristles that make it easy to brush and glide the brush through your hair. It also has a detachable brush head so you can easily clean it. All while being battery operated (yay! No annoying chords to get tangled in!)

Ions come out through the jets on the back of the brush

It's easy to use, simply flick the switch on, which will open up the jet at the back and let the ions free, and brush! My top tip on using the Satin Brush: It works best when your hair is dry. While it works great as a hair brush when wet, I find I get the best results from the ions when your hair is dry (though it has been my go to hair brush at the moment).

It's safe to say that I have actually been really impressed, and I am not just saying that because I got sent a really cool hairbrush. Typically my hair is dull, mildy frizzy and ALWAYS knotty through the colder weather. I just can't be bothered with wearing my hair out in the colder weather, because it is just a pain. However, this has actually changed that completely. My hair has been so soft and shiny lately that all I want to do is parade around with it out for everyone to see. It has also been a lot easier to manage and brush after a windy day. It is a seemingly simple hair brush, and I am sure a lot of you aren't convinced, but I am completely and utterly won over!

So how do you keep your hair silky soft through winter? Well I thought I would conclude with a couple of my top tips for keeping soft, silky hair through winter.

1. Go easy on the heat - I know it is hard, but I find that through winter I tend to want to keep my hair up through winter anyway, which helps, but reducing heat and using good heap protection can help as well. If you do use heat, when your hair has cooled, brush through gently with the Satin Brush to keep your hair looking shiny and frizz free.

2. Increase moisture and hydration - through your shampoo and conditioner, but the Satin Brush helps with this as well, as they help to bring moisture from the air back into your hair, rather than depleting it like other products.

3. Be Gentle - don't over brush, or use brushes with harsh bristles. Using a harsh brush can strip your hair and damage the hair follicles. So take care of your hair, especially through winter. You know what I'm going to recommend don't you...the Braun Satin Brush of course. It is super gentle on the hair, and the smooth bristles helps to brush your hair without stripping it.

4. Get a trim - help to reduce those split ends by getting rid of them completely!

Are you won over by the Braun Satin Brush 7 as well? Well you can pick on up from the Shavershop now. I promise you won't be disappointed.

  1. This brush is right up my street. I love straightening my hair but using a straightener is not always fun. I love something that is quick and make my hair quite manageable. I would definitely try this. Thanks for the review.

    1. It's actually not a hair straightening brush! It's just a hair brush that is designed to make your hair luscious! xx

  2. This sounds like a super interesting tool! Also I'm all about that trim life hahah. While it seems backwards to trim off your hair to make it grow, I find it really helps so much if you're doing to regularly enough :)

    1. It does! I am so hopeless at cutting my hair regularly though, if only it was cheaper! xx

  3. This sounds amazing, i have been using my Dafni straightening brush and loving the results. Hair straightening brushes save a lot of time and effort and the results are so good. Such a nice review, i will keep this on my list to try.

    1. It's actually not a hair straightening brush, just a hair brush, no heat or anything. It is great for making hair soft and manageable! xx

  4. I think I need one of these! My hair has been so full of static lately, and breaking a lot if I wear it up :-(

  8. I thought this was going to be a run of the mill straigntening brush but you've convinced me I need this in my life! I've been doing a lot to try and get my hair back to a healthy state after a few hard yakka years of bleach. Great review <3
