Why Sheet Mask?

Sheet masks are currently all the rage! Since the rest of the world seemed to realise the amazing benefits of K-Beauty, sheet masks have being showing up everywhere. It's become the new trend in celebrity selfies - face and sheet mask selfies.  Now, as someone who absolutely LOVES a good face masks (I feel like I bring it up in nearly every blog post...) I thought that sheet masks would be an amazing idea - easy to apply, less mess to remove.

The idea is very simple - a face-shaped cloth is saturated with skin-loving ingredients and placed on the skin (don't worry, there's a hole for your mouth, eyes and nose!) Not only is it hugely convenient, it’s all you really need on those days when your skin is crying out for something more. So what are the reasons that these have become so popular lately?

Easy to apply
You simply place it on, with your eyes, nose and mouth come out the correct spots, then leave it for 10-15 minutes (sometimes longer, depending on the mask) and take it off, massage the rest in and you're done. No messy rubbing to get all of your charcoal mask off anymore!

Assorted Benefits
Hydration is a big thing I've noticed with sheet masks and I've found they are very useful when my skin is in need of a little bit more moisture, but there are also lots of other benefits from calming, clarifying, cleansing or brightening and lightening your skin.

They are honestly pretty cheap - vast majority are under $10. If you want some fancier ones you can splurge a little, but you can get them pretty cheap.

Because they are flat and aren't in a huge jar or tube you can take them almost anywhere! They are great for flights because you won't get in trouble for liquid limits and they will help your face stay hydrated and kinda calm while you are travelling (though the people around you might think you look a little terrifying for a while, but that doesn't matter!)

I've been loving sheet masks lately. At first I was a little apprehensive and wasn't convinced that they were all that, but this may have been because I was expecting changes that my ordinary face masks would give me. I find sheet masks amazing for when my skin is feeling a bit dry and dehydrated, they are a quick and easy way to bring my skin back to life.

My top four sheet mask recommendations would include:

1. Mecca Cosmetica Lit From Within Sheet Mask - $15 each or 4 for $45. I love that they are in two parts (one for the higher part of your face and one for the lower) makes it easy to fit, plus this mask is so hydrating and leaves your face feeling amazing after just 10 minutes.

2. May Coop Raw Sheet - $5. May Coop's Raw Sauce is super hydrating and nourishing and this sheet mask is a huge, 10 minute hit of this hydration. Amazing!

3. Besone Pink Clay Mask - $7. A clay sheet mask - has the benefits of clay but with out the mess of the usual clay masks. The sheet mask hardens like your clay mask would, and when you peel it off 30 minutes later, all you need is a quick swipe of micellar water and you're all set - your skin feeling firm and refreshed.

4.  Trefiel Moisturising Lace Mask - $9.95. I won't go too much in to this one (you will have to check out the blog post!) but this sheet mask feel so classy and it is so hydrating. I'm loving the new Trefiel masks at the moment

There are so many other sheet masks out there, and these are just three of the few I've tried!! I'd love to hear your sheet mask recommendations too! I've recently fallen in love, so I need to know which to try next. Let me know your favourites in the comments so I can give them a go too! :)
