A Guide To: The Body Shop Super Food Face Masks

On Monday this week The Body Shop released their new Super Food face masks. In honour of this, I thought I'd share with you my thoughts on the new range.

Healthy skin sounds from the inside and these face masks do just that! They are 100% vegetarian (three of which are 100% vegan), with no parabens, silicones or mineral oils, meaning they are absolutely amazing for your skin.

There are five new products in the range, including:
  • Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask – detox (100% vegan)
  • British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask – hydrate (100% vegan)
  • Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask – nourish (100% vegetarian)
  • Amazonian Acai Energising Radiance Mask – energise (100% vegan)
  • Chinese Ginseng & Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask – brighten (100% vegetarian)A

They are all amazing, helping to do different things to help your skin. Being completely natural, they all also have a texture that helps to give a gentle exfoliation as well (bonus!).

Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask

I love a charcoal mask! It gives an amazing deep cleanse, promising to get rid of those toxins and impurities that are lying deep in your pores. This face mask is designed 'for skin that needs purification to help reveal a healthy, youthful looking glow.' It is contains Green Tea leaves and Tea Tree oil helping to purify your skin and give it a 'new lease of life'! It does just that, leaving your skin soft and helping to reduce those angry blemishes.

British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask

This face mask is designed 'for skin that needs to be quenched and re-plumped with moisture to reveal it's dewy glow again'. It is all about drenching the skin with moisture and leaving it hydrated and fresh again. Infused with rose petals, rose essence, rosehip oil and aloe vera, it smells amazing and is gentle and calming on the skin.

Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask

First things first - it is like putting honey directly on your face. It is thick, sticky and amazing. This mask is designed 'for skin that needs an intense dose of replenishing moisture to feel softer and smoother again' and it honestly does just that. My skin was hydrated and soft and nourished again. It is inspired by African healing and soothing rituals (and damn is it soothing!) and blends pure honey, marula oil and olive oil for a nourishing feel that I've never found in another face mask.

Amazonian Acai Energising Radiance Mask

Oh boy does this one smell good! If you skin that 'needs a fast recharge from signs of fatigue and stress' this mask is for you. It is fresh, rejuvenating and all in all amazing. It has little seeds as well which helps for a gentle exfoliation. It is like a gel/jelly consistency and you will love it I promise. It comes with acai berry, guarana, and babassu oil exfoliates and invigorates to wake up the skin and help reduce its tired look.

Chinese Ginseng and Rice Mask

I saved my favourite for last. This is the first one I've bought a full size jar of (though all the others are on my list too!). It is inspired by Chinese traditions, this creamy exfoliating mask combines ginseng, rice extract and sesame seed oil for brighter (and happier) looking skin! It is thick, but applies easily and I promise you face will feel soft, but hydrated.

These face masks are honestly amazing, I'm loving them. Best thing, there is one for your skin problem. The apply easily and are easily removed. For more information click here to get all the fancy statistics and things! Also if you purchase a mask online or in store you can receive a free pamper set which includes a face washer and headband (totally worth it!) valued at $14.95.

Have you tried these face masks yet? Which is your favourite? xx
