What I love most about Botani is their three values. (1) Purity, that ingredients are sourced from sustainable plantations, are 100% vegan friendly and that their packaging is reusable and recyclable. (2) Simplicity - skin care that is simple and concise to meet the modern day consumer needs and demands. (3) Integrity - Communication with their consumers and the community is honest, ethical and genuine.
One of the most important things in skincare, to me, is that it is simple and does what it says it will, so the fact that one of Botani's main values is simplicity was extremely important for me. So, naturally, I was super excited to try a couple of products from Botani to see how they went!
Rescue Acne Cream*
'Tired of battling blemished prone skin and acne without success? Looking for a solution that is gentle on your skin?' Those two questions had me sold. As soon as I read them I knew I needed to try this cream out. Acne and I have a love hate relationship. They love me, I hate them. So I am constantly on the hunt for anything to help reduce my angry red spots. The Rescue Acne Cream is designed to gently dry and heal pimples in acne and blemish prone skin. In fact, a scientific in vitro suspension test has shown that the Rescue Acne Cream is effective against Propionibacterium acnes bacteria under laboratory test conditions, with a 99.99% kill factor of in just 30 minutes! So naturally, I had to put it to the test. It is quite a thick cream and the instructions say to apply a small amount to the pimple using a cotton bud, and that it could be used morning and night after cleansing. Now I wasn't 100% sure whether you apply it like the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion, so you can still see the product, or rub it in completely. I decided I'd try rubbing it in first and if I didn't notice any improvement, I would go down the other route. So I applied it before bed, straight after cleansing and applied a moisturiser over the top, being careful to only add a small amount over where I'd applied the cream.
Come morning, I was impressed. It had very clearly dried my pimples out. While they weren't completely gone, I found that using it a couple of days in a row helped a lot more and they disappeared much faster than if I had done nothing. I was also happy that they dried out the pimples without making all the skin around my pimples dry and annoying. Best of all, I have noticed that I am not getting a huge amount of scarring from the pimples that I have covered using this cream. I am definitely impressed!
Olivene Repair Balm*
This is a Petroleum jelly free intensive moisturiser and barrier balm. While providing a natural protective barrier it is equally hydrating and nourishing your skin. Non-greasy and suitable for all skin types, it’s ideal for dry, cracked, irritated skin.I was immediately attracted to this balm because of the inclusion of Calendula as an ingredient alongside olive butter and Botáni’s signature skin intelligent ingredient Olive Squalene. While I don't have a huge amount of dry and cracked skin over my body, my eczema has been playing up a lot lately and I have been in desperate need of something to help soothe it, especially as I have no run out of my medicated cream. So I thought I'd give this a whirl to see how it would go on my eczema. Whenever I felt my arms getting itchy I would apply a small amount of the balm with my finger and it would instantly soothe the itchiness, helping to reduce the dryness and irritation that would usually come from me scratching my skin to within an inch of it's life. I have been so happy with this product and it is definitely going to become a favourite of mine, well actually, it already is. It soothes and helps to heal, which are two things I need when it comes to my eczema. I am so happy I discovered this product!

I have been super impressed with these two products. Both very simple and easy to use, and best of all, they both do exactly what they say they do. I am now very intrigued to try more from the brand, if they work as well as these two do, then I know I will love everything else they do!
Have you tried anything from Botani before? What are your favourite Botani products that I should try?
