Mint Skin Mud Masks

Mint Skin was developed to fulfill a need for simple, natural, skin products without the excessive price tag. They make cruelty free, non-toxic mud masks that give your skin real results (which, let be real, is what we all want from skincare).

Their MUD masks uses Australian natural mineral clay which works to balance your skin out by extracting the bacteria and toxins from your pores. Why is this so great I hear you ask? Well be removing this bad stuff from your skin, it helps to reduce blemishes and rashes, the clay also helps to reduce allergic reactions thanks to the special calming abilities (I think they use magic...)

Mint Skin currently offer two different mud masks, which they were lovely enough to send to me to try: The first one is their Detox Clay Mask which can be used on both the face and body. It is designed to target blemishes, cellulite and congestion. The second mask is Hydration Clay Mask which is better suited to sensitive skin and can be used on the face and décolletage, flushing impurities while giving your skin a burst of hydration.

These masks come in easy, one use satchels and I find they are best applied using a brush (if you purchase a bundle you will also get one of these brushes) as it makes it much easier to get a smooth layer over all of your face, with much less mess. The satchels are a great idea as it gives you enough to cover your face and other areas of your body without applying way too much or not enough. (In saying I love these masks so much I do wish they came in a big pot so I could have more...)

'But what are each of them like?' So many questions! Don't worry, I have got you covered with my two mini reviews:

Rosa Hydration Mud Mask

Made with a combination of delicate Australian white clay and premium all-natural extracts including, fresh rose, honey, nourishing aloe vera and macadamia to soothe and restore. This mask is made up of so many good things, which is probably why I have completely fallen in love with it. I was in love with it the second I applied it. It is a white paste, that applies really easily (especially when you buy the bundle and get the brush which makes it even easier!). I applied it to my face, neck and décolletage and left it for about fifteen minutes, enough for the clay to basically set. I then washed the mask off using warm water, which was really easy to do - the mask came right off. And boy was I impressed with my skin when it did come off. My face was SO soft and it felt hydrated without that oily residue feeling that sometimes comes with hydration. It also looks clearer and brighter. I am such a huge fan of this mask. I honestly want a huge pot so I can use it every week. Mint Skin - you guys freakin nailed this one.

Detox Mud Mask

A pore refining and deep cleansing, fights breakouts and blackheads and cellulite, this mask is suitable for combination and problem skin types. It is a dry mud, meaning it starts off as a powder and you have to add a couple of tablespoons of water to activate the powerhouse mix of Bentonite and ultra fine Zeolite clay and turn it into a wet mixture which you then apply to your face for about fifteen minutes. I would start by adding less water, because it is easier to add more than to accidentally water it WAYY too much (there is no way back from there...). Then apply with the brush (that you'll get when you buy the bundle!) and away you go. It will leave your skin feeling soft and deeply cleansed. I would say that this is one of those masks where your skin may get worse before it gets better, I have to say I have noticed a few blemishes in the couple of days after I wore it. I guess that means it's doing a good job though!

After trying both I think the hydration mask is probably my favourite of the two masks, but I have to say they are both amazing! I would say if you are only going to use the mask on your face you could probably get almost two goes out of the satchel, which means you might want to only add water to half the powder. All in all I am super impressed and I definitely want to repurchase some of these masks so I have a big stash in my cupboard! Mint Skin - you nailed it!
