Winter Must Have's: Face Oils and Serums

As you might have picked up from yesterday's post, WINTER IS HERE! You may have also noticed from the cold weather....but throughout this week I will be sharing my top picks for winter skincare to keep your skin happy and healthy through the colder months.

Every day this week I will be sharing my must haves for each part of my skincare routine. They are products that I trust and will be using throughout the colder months. Today's post is all about my top serums and face oil picks for winter.

Now, bear in mind that I have drier skin and through winter my skin gets quite temperamental while it is cold. I go for hydrating products designed to give my skin that boost to stop it from being dry, irritated and unhappy. While I have tried to include a variety of products in each of these posts, some may be less suited to oilier skin types than others.

I like to use a mix of face oils and serums through winter. I choose hydrating serums and then add in face oils when my skin is feeling particularly dry and dull. I have compiled a list of my top face serums and oils to keep your skin calm and hydrated through winter.

I don't tend to use face oils through summer, as my skin doesn't need quite as much hydration through the warmer months. However, in winter I like to step it up and add some extra hydration in.

Instant illuminating glow! A sheer dry oil formula enhanced with ingredients that contain omega fattyacids 3 and 6 and a superantioxidant to help support luminous skin beauty. Like a superfood for your skin, this illuminating oil provides just the right amount of superior hydration and moisture where it’s needed most; improving the look of skin texture to help create a more radiant-looking, even-toned complexion.

I had this face oil last year for a few months and I absolutely loved it. It is a lightweight oil that soaks into the skin extremely quickly. This oil is great for when you need a slight hydration rather than an intense hydration. I have found that it leaves my skin feeling really soft and hydrated, while also leaving my skin looking glowy!

Made from 100% natural and pure active oils, this superior and intensive botanical skin treatment oil leaves skin revitalised, smoothed and hydrated. A unique blend of Australian native Kakadu Plum Seed Oil and Berry Seed Complex brightens, plumps and smoothes the skin, whilst also offering powerful antioxidant properties. Hemp Seed Oil, Jojoba Seed Oil and Evening Primrose Oil are rich in therapeutic properties and assist to protect and reinforce the skin's natural barrier and help to alleviate excessive dryness and to repair damaged skin. Ginger Root Extract soothes irritated skin.

A newbie from Ella Baché, this treatment oil came out at the perfect time. It is a slightly thicker oil than the Arbonne oil, but it is extremely hydrating on the skin. I love the smell of this face oil. With all the natural oils that make up this skin treatment make it smell fresh and calming. This oil feels and smells luxurious and has been really help to both hydrate and calm my skin through the colder months.

A terrifically powerful, fantastically lightweight face oil that deeply hydrates, soothes, revitalizes and completely protects the face against bad guys trying to make it unhappy. It's your daily skin booster and new best friend.

I used this Face Oil a couple of years ago when my skin was particularly dry and irritated. I had tried everything to try and soothe it, nothing had previously worked. This little Face Hero is really a hero and saved my skin. It calmed the irritation that I was having and helped to rehydrate my skin. Within a couple of weeks my skin was basically back to it's original state. I bought another bottle this year just in case and also to help my skin keep hydrated through winter. I have been using this for the past few weeks as well and my skin is looking amazing already.
I always have serums in my routine and tailor these to what my skin needs at any given time. Throughout winter I choose serums to help both hydrate and soothe my skin. This is because I get both dry and irritated skin through the colder months. My favourite serums include:

Brilliant for alleviating dry and stressed skins, Aspect Dr Redless is essential to any skincare regime. Red, sensitive skin sufferers and mild irritation alike will see the difference within weeks as the signs of a stressed skin slowly decrease.
I have only used this serum a few times already, but I have been loving it so far. It is a lightweight, almost oily consistency that soaks into the skin extremely quickly. It works fast to help alleviate irritation and also to rehydrate skin. After using the serum I have noticed that my skin looks brighter, feels calmer and I have noticed that there has been a noticeable increase in my skins hydration levels. I think this is going to be a necessity through winter.

A serum for sensitive skin that helps provide a natural protective barrier against environmental aggressors and restores the skin's epidermal defences.

I picked this serum up last year when I was struggling with irritation yet again. Jurlique gave me a few samples of this serum and it did wonders for my skin. My skin was red, irritated and uncomfortable. This serum helped to calm it down immediately and over a couple of weeks my skin was less red. It was a life saver. I have picked up a full size bottle for this year and I pull it out whenever my skin is irritated. It's the best.

An antioxidant rich, replenishing serum for dehydrated skin designed to provide skin with essential fatty acids to help moisturise and protect skin.

A new range from Jurlique with their iconic rose scent. It is designed to address the signs of dehydration, refreshing your skin. It is a beautifully scented serum that is lightweight and the perfect way to rehydrate your skin. It is not an intense hydration serum, so it would work for normal to dry skin.

So these are my top picks for serums and face oils. Have I missed any? Let me know your go to serum or face oil in the comments below. Stay tuned for tomorrow's Winter Skincare Must Have's: Moisturisers.
