Winter Must Have's: Face Masks

I couldn't complete my Winter Must Have's without talking about face masks! Who would I be if I didn't include my top winter face masks? Definitely not a face mask queen.... So happy Face Mask Friday and let's get into it!

Every day this week I will be sharing my must haves for each part of my skincare routine. They are products that I trust and will be using throughout the colder months. Today's post is all about my top Face Mask picks for winter. It is quite the list, so grab a cup of tea and a snack and let's get into it.

Now, bear in mind that I have drier skin and through winter my skin gets quite temperamental while it is cold. I go for hydrating products designed to give my skin that boost to stop it from being dry, irritated and unhappy. While I have tried to include a variety of products in each of these posts, some may be less suited to oilier skin types than others.

Arbonne | RE9 Cellular Renewal Mask*

Help reveal your healthiest-looking complexion with botanical exfoliants. Pineapple and papaya enzymes in this mask work together to gently remove dead skin cells to minimize the look of pores and improve the appearance of skin tone for a fresh-looking skin canvas. The result? Skin that feels velvety soft with an out-of-this-world glow.

I am going to start with a mask that isn't necessarily hydrating, but is perfect to give your skin that boost and revitalisation that it sometimes needs through winter. I often find that when I get sick or when it gets particularly cold my skin looks and feels particularly flat and dull. When my skin gets like that, I pop this mask on for about 10 minutes and it instantly brightens and refreshes my skin. It gives a gentle exfoliation, though it may leave your skin looking a little red afterwards, don't stress - this will go away after a while. After that, your skin will be glowing!

Peter Thomas Roth | Hungarian Thermal Water Mineral-Rich Atomic Heat Mask*

An anti-aging heat mask that harnesses the power of Hungarian thermal water, botanicals, and modern technologies to help nourish and restore skin’s appearance. This fountain-of-youth mask helps reduce the look of fine lines, wrinkles, dullness, uneven skin tone, and texture for smoother, healthier, and younger-looking skin. For years, people traveled from afar to soak in the mineral-rich thermal waters of the Hungarian spas owned by Peter’s grandparents. Today, Peter uses the most mineral-rich thermal water on earth in this high-powered mask.

I mean, how can you go wrong with a warming mask during winter? YOU CAN'T! On a cold winters day, you pop this guy on, wait 3 minutes and then with some cool water, massage the mask in. The mask will activate and warm up (it is heaven). Once the heat has subsided, simply remove the mask. I love how my skin feels once I remove this mask - soft and refreshed. While it doesn't claim to be a hydrating mask, I find that my skin feels more hydrated after wearing this mask. I can't comment on the anti-ageing properties of this mask, but I can definitely say it does wonders for rejuvenating my face.

Clarins | SOS Comfort Nourishing Balm Mask*

Protective skin care that calms and soothes the driest skin. An ultra-rich balm in a nourishing mask that softens and comforts the skin in just 10 minutes for deeply nourished skin that is soft, supple, radiant and feels great.

Clarins new SOS Comfort face masks are perfect for winter! There are two I'm going to talk about and the first one is the Nourishing Balm. It is a thick, ultra-rich balm that you apply and leave for about 10 minutes. It will leave your skin feeling refreshed and hydrated. It is the perfect boost when your skin is feeling dull and needs that little instant boost. This is my go to mask when my skin is particularly dry and flaky. It gives an immediate boost and leaves your skin looking gorgeous.

Clarins | SOS Comfort Hydration Mask*

A moisturizing bath for thirsty skin. This ultra-refreshing gel-cream mask helps skin find its ideal moisture level in just 10 minutes. Deeply quenches for skin that is supple, refreshed, smooth and toned.

The next Clarins SOS Comfort mask I have been loving through winter is the hydration mask. Designed for dehydrated skin, this is the perfect mask for winter. It is a lightweight, creamy mask that gives a quick hydration boost to skin. Between this one and the nourishing mask, your skin will be set through winter.

Cosmedix | Restore Moisture-Rich Mask*

Restore skin with vital moisture, vitamins and essential fatty acids to help promote water retention and proper lipid balance. Cosmedix Restore Moisture-Rich Mask is an ultra-moisturising mask that visually plumps skin to smooth out wrinkles and refines skin texture. The result is a healthier-looking complexion and skin that feels softer and revitalized.

I have been absolutely loving this mask throughout winter. When my skin is feeling particularly dry or irritated this is the mask that I reach for. It is a creamy and super hydrating mask. I put a generous amount on my skin leave it for 15-20 minutes and then either rinse off or simply wipe off excess. My skin always feels soft, hydrated and rejuvenated afterwards.

Origins | Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask

Quench your skin's thirst with this intensive nourishing mask, which aims to restore moisture and prevent future dehydration. When your skin needs a little TLC, this gang of star ingredients including apricot kernel oil , avocado and Japanese seaweed join forces to replace lost moisture and elasticity. It deeply nourishes, minimises the signs of premature aging, and creates a reservoir of moisture to ensure there's enough water in your skin for tomorrow.

Everyone needs a good overnight mask in their kit. When your skin is particularly dull and dehydrated, then the overnight mask is the perfect way for an effortless pick me up. The Origins mask has been my overnight mask of choice for a while now. It is another creamy hydrating mask that is perfect through winter. When my skin is feeling dry, irritated or just dull, I pop this on after my moisturiser right before bed and leave it on overnight. Come morning my skin always feels refreshing and hydrated. It also smells so refreshing too, so win win win!

Eye masks have become a must have for me this winter. My under eye and around my eye area have become so dry throughout the colder months and I have needed all the boosts I can get. I have loved popping eye masks on to calm and rehydrate my eyes and I have two favourites to share with you.

Arbonne | RE9 Advanced Prepwork Gel Eye Masks*

Everyone will be jelly when they see these fun eye masks! They soothe and cool on contact, transforming tired, puffy-looking eyes into wide-awake, “I’m a morning person” eyes. Plus, our moisture-boosting superfood cocktail of antioxidants, omegas and phytonutrients help soften the look of baby lines around the eyes.

I was super excited to try these eye masks out and they have very quickly become some of my favourites. They are lightweight, thin gel masks that are gold in colour and are extremely hydrating. I pop these on for anywhere between 10-30 minutes (depending how long my eyes need it for). They work great before make up or right before bed. They brighten, rehydrate and calm my under eyes and honestly that is everything I need for my eyes!

Patchology | Eye Revive FlashPatch 5 Minute Hydrogels

Send puffiness, dryness and dark circles packing to instantly give the illusion of a brighter, more radiant complexion. Pop on whilst you're doing your eyeliner or apply just before bed and let the hard-working hydrogels dissolve all signs of jet lag and late nights. These powerful patches possess a plethora of effective actives such as caffeine to minimise puffiness, sodium hyaluronate to replenish moisture, hydrolysed collagen to boost elasticity and tone and portulaca oleracea extract to brighten.

Very similar to the Arbonne gel eye masks, these are lightweight gel eye masks that I pop on from between 5-30 minutes. They also work well before make up or before bed. I love that they calm any irritation I have, rehydrate the dry and flakiness AND reduce the puffiness under my eyes. Between these and the Arbonne ones, my eyes are never dry or puffy through winter (she says with them on because my eyes are rather tender at the moment thanks to my cold leaving me with watery eyes...)

So there ends my Winter Must Have's. Make sure you catch up on any of the other posts you have missed and let me know in the comments what I have missed in my lists. I would love to know what your winter must have's include! xx
