Let's Talk About Vagina's! || Vagisil ProHydrate

Let’s talk about vagina’s! I bet that’s not a statement that you expected to read this morning, but now that you have, let’s talk. Vagina’s are something we ladies don’t seem to talk about often enough, especially when it comes to issues and irritation. Today I want to break down that barrier and start the conversation.

It’s time to get personal ladies. Every year, about 19% of Australian women experience vaginal dryness, most commonly experienced at least once a week (31%), with 47.4MM yearly occurrences reported to be the 2nd highest occurrence of all symptoms.

I’m going to hand it over to Dr. Nikki Goldstein, sexologist and relationship expert, to explain why vaginal dryness is an issue, and some of the causes of vaginal dryness.

Now, for me, vaginal dryness has definitely been an issue (never thought that would be something I’d share on the internet, but here we are!). Last year I actually suffered quite a severe irritation that led to dryness. It was something I didn’t want to tell people about. It was embarrassing and there was no way I wanted to go to a doctor and have them look down there to see whether there was an issue or not! I know I am not the only lady out there who has been scared to talk about issues down stairs. I’m sharing my experience to encourage all you ladies to talk about it and seek advice, as it could be something far more serious that needs to be checked out.

Now, there are some ways that you can keep your downstairs feeling happy and healthy all the time. Vagisil has a number of products to help keep your intimates feeling comfortable. Today I want to talk about the ProHydrate Plus Hydrating Gels. Vagisil ProHydrate Gels are an innovative solution for dryness that meet any females dryness needs. If you’re having issues getting a bit of moisture downstairs when you need it most, or just in day to day life, then these gels are fantastic. The contraception that I am on does sometimes cause weird hormonal imbalances in my body, which can throw a lot of things out of whack, including moisture down there, so I do love the idea of something I can easily apply that helps to calm and hydrate, to reduce that uncomfortable feeling.

There are two options that you can go for. First is the External Hydrating Gels* which is designed to help relieve and replenish dry and uncomfortable skin. I have found this has been my favourite, as it also helps with itchiness that you might get as well. It contains ProHydrate Complex, a unique blend of moisturisers including Hyaluronic Acid which feels like your own natural moisture. Now, don’t stress, there are no added perfumes, dyes, preservatives or estrogen. I am happy to admit that I really like this gel. It is hydrating and gentle to use. I have found that it definitely helps to increase moisture, without feeling uncomfortable or like you’re apply a thick lubrication. It feels completely natural. I know, you’re probably thinking ‘oh that’s weird to apply, I don’t want to apply a gel down there…’ but it actually isn’t at all. It is definitely something I’m going to use more frequently, especially when I’m feeling a little bit drier.

The second option is an Internal Hydrating Gel*. This one is definitely good for intimate times, when you really don’t want to be dry down there. New Vagisil ProHydrate Plus Internal Hydrating Gel provides long-lasting relief from vaginal dryness to make intimacy more enjoyable and bring your confidence back. It is a unique bio-adherent formula that slowly coats the vaginal wall and releases moisture over time. These come in single-use pre-filled applicator inserts to help make it effortless and easy. Now these gels aren’t going to be for everyone, but I would definitely say that they are great if you need a little kick-start before intimacy. They are super easy to use and definitely help to get moisture going, but it doesn’t feel like you’re just sticking lube up there, just like a natural hydration (sorry for the mildly crass way of putting it, but it is the best way to describe it).

Vagisil has a number of other products for your intimate areas, which I actually really enjoy using and would definitely recommend. Find out where you can buy Vagisil by visiting: http://bit.ly/2pNgyMp

If you take nothing else away from this post, I hope that you are encouraged to talk about any issues you have downstairs, whether it is irritation, or dryness, don’t be afraid to talk about. Find a girlfriend and tell her, who knows, maybe she has gone through something similar. If irritation is particularly bad, please do seek medical advice.

  1. I think it's great you're getting the conversation going :) we shouldn't be ashamed because so many of us have the same parts and the same problems. We may as well all go through it together and make it easier.

    1. I'm glad you agree! I think it's so important for us to talk about, it's so easy to push it under the rug and forget about it or ignore it, but we aren't all that different, so we shouldn't be afraid to talk! xx

  8. I always spend so much money on products for my face, arms and legs, but never think to invest in my vagina! Loved reading about these products - I experienced severe dryness for a couple of months when I started the Mini Pill, but since going off all hormonal contraceptives have had a pretty happy vagina!

    1. I know right, me too!! I had some issues early on with my contraception, which was around when I started using Vagisil. I think it is great, and we should probably think more about taking care of down there! xx
