The Abnormal Beauty Company

I love discovering new brands, as most of your might have realised by now and I have heard so many amazing things about the Deciem brands, that I just HAD to try some of them.

Deciem was started in 2013 and they now operate more than 10 brands in the beauty business. Operating a humble and happy umbrella of good beauty brands they are founded on the principle of doing everything others don't do and are changing the world of beauty based on this principle. They have high end, pricey brands, alongside the more affordable brands, with everything you could need for skincare. If you haven't started to see these brands floating around on Instagram, I do have to ask...have you been living under a rock?

Niod

Niod is a professional range of beauty products designed to complement dermatological and surgical options in beauty. They have cutting edge, unique products designed for ‘hyper-educated’ skincare enthusiasts who thrive on seeing visible results, quickly. I have been trying out two different products from the Niod range and I have been really impressed with them.

The first one I have been using is the Sanskrit Saponins*, a viscous and intense cleansing balm formulated with highly-concentrated, very-unrefined Ayurvedic plant surfactants. While using unique technology, SS contains no purified or synthetic ingredients, sulphates, oils or anything nasty. It is designed to cleanse the skin and remove make up without cleaning out the important nutrients your skin needs to be happy and healthy. I have been loving this cleanser. It is quite a thick cleanser, but works really well. It is simple, but leaves your skin feeling clean and refreshed without being dry or wiped clean. You can also use it as a deeper cleanse, leaving it on like a mask for five minutes, this is what I want to try next!

I have also been using the Flavanone Mud*, which is a three-phase rinse-off decongestion system that disrupts neither the skin surface equilibrium nor its density. It is used much like a mask, applying it to the skin, leaving it on for about 10 minutes before washing it off. It is intense, and tingles on the skin, almost too much for comfort, so I did wash it off a little early, but it left my skin feeling soft and refreshed and I noticed in the days to come that my acne started to clear up and my skin looked so great.

Hylamide

Hylamide is a skincare treatment range that targets every depth of the skin from the surface to the subcutaneous level (essentially every layer of the skin). I've seen these products in Priceline and have wanted to try them for so long.

The first product I have been trying from Hylamie is the HA Blur*, which is a blurring products promise to scatter light in many directions to hide pores and lines and create a retouched skin finish. It can be used in many ways, under make up, over make or mixed in with make up, or without any make up at all. I haven't tried it over make up, because I don't always want that matte finish, but I love using it after skin care, or mixed in with a glowy foundation. It is so unique and really does decrease your pore size and essentially blur the skin.
IT is
Next is the Photography Foundation in Transparent* which is transparent foundation designed specifically to make the skin look better for the camera lens while blurring away imperfections in real life. I use this essentially as a primer. It instantly corrects my tone and really does make my skin look amazing before I apply any foundation at all. This is one of my favourite products I have tried from Deciem. If I am having a particularly bad skin day, this instantly helps to make my skin look better!

The Chemistry Brand

This was the brand I was the least familiar with out of the three I tried. The Chemistry Brand is a brand focused on the hands and body, with treatments designed to fight all aspects of ageing.

The first product I tried was the Retin-Oil*, a body oil designed for scars, stretch marks and daily care. I really like this oil. I haven't been using it religiously like I should be, so I can't comment on whether it has reduced my scars and stretch marks, or not. For a body oil, I found that it wasn't super oily...it soaked into the skin easily and I didn't have that annoying oily residue on my hand afterwards. It also smells so lovely, fruity and refreshing.

Now I have saved the best for last, my absolute favourite product out of the six I have tried, so far, from Deciem. The Hand Chemistry*, the most amazing hand cream I have ever used. It smells so lovely and leaves my hands It is a concentrated multi-functional hand cream targets 8 signs of hand aging simultaneously. The extraordinary 19.5% active complex concentration improves the looks of firmness, elasticity, density, evenness, brightness, texture, smoothness and hydration. My hands are usually dry and awful, but using this brings my skin back to life instantly. Plus, you don't get that annoying residue on your hands that gets all over your phone and everywhere. It is truly amazing.

So yea, it is safe to say I have been so impressed with these products. All of them, from the more affordable, all the way to the professional grade Niod, work so well and do exactly what they say. They are simple products, with unique technology that are just so good for your skin. I really want to try The Ordinary brand next, they sound amazing, plus they are super affordable!

What is your favourite Deciem product? xx
