Trash Talk: December Edition

8:30 am

As the year comes to a close, I thought it was only right to share my empties for this last month. I skipped November because I didn't have too many empties, only five or so. I skipped a month, because I secretly didn't want you to know that I don't get through many products sometimes... (shhh it's a secret). I couldn't not do December, so without further adieu, here is my December empties:

Skincare

 1. Avene Clearance Micellar Water - I have been using this for a couple of months, in the hope that it would help my acne. Did it? No. Would I repurchase it again? Over my Bioderma, probably not. I'm not in love with it, but it works well for cleansing the skin and removing make up.

2. Uriage Thermal Micellar Wipes* - for $11, I really like these. They are super refreshing and nice to use, with a slightly bumpy side and a smooth side, to get your skin extra clean! Plus it's perfect for sensitive skin. I would definitely repurchase (along with so many other face wipes I've tried lately....)

3. 3x Skinstitut Gentle Cleanser (sample) - If you need a good, gentle cleanser, I definitely recommend this. It foams easily and is super easy to use. I am a huge fan of this.

4. Skinstitut Glycolic Cleanser 12% (sample) - I love Glycolic as an ingredient at the moment. I can't say I noticed a huge difference in my skin after using this, but I have a few more samples to try out, so I will report back next month.

5. First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser (sample) - Another good, gentle cleanser. It is quite thick in consistency but works well to remove make up and leave your skin feeling refreshed. It is perfect for sensitive skin. If I didn't already have lots of gentle cleansers, I would repurchase this, it's fairly cheap!

5. Dermalogica Special Cleansing Booster (sample) - I honestly think this was a little bit too strong for my skin. If did help to clear up my acne a little, it also dried my skin up and I had issues with dryness for a couple of days after. At this stage, probably won't purchase a full size.

6. Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Serum* - I absolutely love this stuff. Any of you that missed my full review of it, you can find it here, but it really has helped with reducing scarring and redness on my skin. It's become a Holy Grail for me. Already onto my second one.

7. Benefit They're Real! Eye Makeup Remover (sample) - It's a pricey make up remover, but I do love this stuff. I've had a couple of tubes and they last forever and do a fantastic job. It's not something I indulge in very often though.

8. 2x Neogen Bio Peel Gauze Wine and Lemon - I received this in my Maslow and Co box and I was very intrigued. There is definitely A LOT of product in the small satchel. The pad came out soaking. I can't say I saw any change in my skin...but I think it's one of those 'I need to use more than once' products. I'd consider repurchasing.

Make Up

9. Mecca Cosmetica Soft Focus Primer - I am a huge of the Mecca face masks. This one is perfect for oily skin and I'd definitely pick another one of these up, especially during summer!

10. Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer - I love this concealer! I just can't justify the cost. It does such a good job, but since using my Maybelline Master Conceal, I just can't justify repurchasing. I will probably repurchase it again at some stage.

Face Masks

Before we start, I have used a number of Sugar Baby face masks this month, which I am going to list below, but I am not going to go into detail, because I will have a full review coming soon if you are interested in those (you should be...)

15. 3x reCLAYm Pink Aussie Clay Mask with CoQ10* - Did you see my post on these? I am a huge fan. I think the concept of individual jars for each use is such a great idea. Also they are good to your skin! I want to try more from this brand.

16. Mint Skin Detox Mud Mask- Also have done a full review of these if you are interested, but I love the masks that Mint Skin make. My favourite is their Rosa one, though I would repurchase this.

Body

17. Mr Pitts Natural Deodorant* - I love this deodorant. Whenever I am having irritation under my arms this is the perfect way to get rid of smell. I haven't been using it as much in summer as I don't find it quite as good, but I still will always have a jar of this in my jar now!

18Real Techniques Brush Cleansing Gel - If you need a good brush cleanser, buy this stuff (off iHerb of course!) It smells so good and does a fantastic job of cleaning your brushes.

19. Bondi Sands Everyday Gradual Tanning Milk - Another favourite of mine. I don't really like tanning, so I'll always go for a gradual tan over an actual fake tan. This is gentle and smells amazing and gives you a gorgeous glow. I'm trying a few more out now, but I will definitely repurchase.

20. The Body Shop Polynesian Island Tiaré Eau De Toilette (sample) - This perfume smells so refreshing and lovely, I do want to get a full bottle! Definitely recommend this if you want a new, fresh scent.

Bath Products

21. The Soak Life: Lost in Paradise Salty Bath Soak - One of the products in my November Peony Parcel and I loved it! It smelt so amazing and was so hydrating, I really want to try more from this brand now!

22. Lush Star Dust Bath Bomb - I love this, I was so bummed I missed out on getting one of these in the sales (they were $3!!!) but it was so lovely and I will definitely keep my eye out next Christmas.

23. Lush Ruby Red Slipper* - This smells delightful and makes so many bubbles! I am in love. Picked up another in the sale, so I'll have to make it last!

24. Soak Society Yinyang Wellness Soak* - This has to be one of my favourite bath soaks, you can read all about it here. It is definitely on the repurchase list (I have enough bath products at the moment...)

A smaller month this time around, but still fairly sizeable. I am planning on doing my Trash Talks every two months from now on, depending on how many products I go through. So keep your eye out at the end of February for my next one!

  1. I struggle getting through products from time to time as well, so I wouldn't worry too much. I usually take my empties over to the next month & then do a post about it.

I'm amazed at everything you got through this month! All those sheet masks...then again, they're easy to finish up. I'm keen to hear your thoughts about the SugarBaby ones as I might pick one or 2 up at some stage.

  4. I feel the same way about the Nars concealer, I like it but I can get others that work just as well for half the price
