The Christmas Tag

Welcome to the 12 Days of Blogmas! Today is Day 1! During the 12 days of Christmas there will be a mixture of product reviews (non Christmas related stuff) and Christmassy posts, but for everyday leading up to Christmas there will be a new blog post. I hope you're excited, BECAUSE I'M EXCITED!

What better way to start the 12 Days of Blogmas than with the Christmas Tag. Just a way to get you to know me a little better, but also to start to share some Christmas spirit!! So without further adieu, here we go.

1. What is your favourite Christmas film?

My romantic heart is saying Love Actually, because who doesn't love a little bit of romance during Christmas! But if I was to pick a really Christmassy movie, I would have to choose The Santa Clause as it was a movie I used to watch with my family all the time. It is funny and fun and all things Christmas.

2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?

Always on Christmas morning. I used to be a little jealous of those who opened a present on Christmas Eve, but I love Christmas morning. I am always up early with mum and dad and we open all our presents together. Grandma gets up a bit later and we go through all the presents again. It's so much fun doing it all on Christmas morning.

3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?

Ooh, that's a hard one. My favourite memory is probably the year that Santa and the firefighters came to where we live. Living on an estate in a small country town, you don't get a huge amount of community Christmas stuff, but a few years ago Santa came with the firefighters to bring Christmas treats on Christmas Eve. Mum and I got way too excited (bear in mind I was at least 18 at the time...). It was just silly and fun.

4. Favourite Festive Food?

Christmas Ham. Having that leg of ham, cutting the ham of the bone. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. Nothing is better than ham at Christmas time. I spend all year hanging out for Christmas ham.

5. Favourite Christmas Present?

Time for me to get all sappy and gross. But my favourite Christmas present was actually from last year. My gorgeous boyfriend got a friend of his to draw this adorable picture of the two of us. It was so cute and sweet and sentimental and it now sits on my bedside table so I can see it every day. It is my favourite gift ever.

6. Favourite Christmas Scent?

Fresh Christmas Trees? Is that a scent? I love the scent of a real Christmas tree. It has been years since we cut our own Christmas tree, but I still remember the smell, it is delicious. I also am loving Gingerbread scents this year, anything Gingerbread....I must have it!

7. Do you have any Christmas Eve Traditions?

Yes, why yes I do! Every Christmas Eve, my parents and I, as well as my Grandmother all sit to watch the Christmas carols. I belt out every song at the top of my lungs (much to Grandma's disgrace). It wouldn't be Christmas without Christmas Eve Christmas Carols.

8. What tops your Christmas Tree?

We have an angel. I'm pretty sure it's been in the family for years, it's older than I am anyway. It's just what has always been around, I don't think I could have a Christmas tree without it now.

9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?

A pony. I know, it's one of those things that children always ask for and never get, but mum and dad both used to ride horses and I learnt as a child, so I always wanted my own horse. Never got it, though I did get close sometimes.

10. What is the best part about Christmas for you?

Family. Being all together, in one place, for one day. There is no other time throughout the whole year that we are all together at one time. Cliche I know, but I love it. Also the food...oh man do I love Christmas food.

I hope you enjoyed my Christmas Tag. It is always fun sharing a little piece of me with you guys, just like I love learning little pieces about each of you that read my blog. I'd love if you shared your favourite thing about Christmas, or answer another one of the questions so that I can get to know you too! Stay tuned for more posts coming tomorrow in the 12 Days of Blogmas!

  4. I love Love Actually but haven't seen it in years- totally watching it tonight!
I'm with you on the smell of pine trees, so festive especially with a christmassy candle in the background too, we couldn't get a tree this year because of our puppy which I'm so gutted about haha.

  5. We don't really do 'traditional' Christmas in our family, but my sisters and I all love to huddle together and watch Love Actually on Christmas afternoon if we can. And I do allow my kids to open one present Christmas Eve then the rest Christmas morning. Have a lovely Christmas Laura!
