Scrubba Body Citrus Coffee Scrub

We all love to have a good scrub, well I definitely do! I find it so relaxing and rejuvenating to jump in the shower or bath and scrub away your worries (and of course the dirt and dead skin cells and other gross things that are lying on our skin...) Coffee scrubs have been all the rage lately and there are sooo many different coffee scrubs out at the moment. I have been lucky enough to be trying out one of Scrubba Body's coffee scrubs recently and I wanted to put it to the test to see what made it stand out from other coffee scrubs...

Scrubba Body is an Australian company, based in NSW, which makes natural and organic coffee scrubs. At Scrubba Body all scrubs are made to order using only natural ingredients that are designed to leave your body smooth and refreshed. They have five different coffee scrubs designed to target your specific skin type, it really leaves you spoiled for choice! Each scrub is designed to buff away dead skin cells, reduce the appearance of cellulite while also helping with eczema and other skin conditions. They are all rich in vitamin A, B and E and help to draw impurities out of the skin.

I have currently been trying out the Citrus Coffee Scrubwhich provides all the benefits stated above, as well as helping to soothe acne prone skin, tightening pores, treat bruises and rashes and also helping to moisturise your skin. So many amazing benefits right?! But does it really work? Well you better keep reading...

Pros:

This scrub claims to do so many things, so what are the great things that work I hear you asking?
  • If you are not a huge coffee fan (i.e. not a huge fan of the smell) than I think this product would be great for you. The citrus scent helps to make the coffee not smell quite so strong, instead giving it a really refreshing smell instead. I love it!!
  • Unlike some scrubs that are quite damp, the drier texture makes it easy to get a really good exfoliation in - which in turn will leave you feel even softer and smoother!
  • If you have sensitive skin, or suffer from eczema (like myself) this stuff works a treat! The natural ingredients help to not irritate skin, but the scrub actually really helps with rashes and eczema. My eczema has been really bad lately because of my moon boot (don't fracture your foot, DON'T DO IT!) and my awful hayfever, so I've been itchy as crazy. Scrubbing away with this was one of the only ways I was able to reduce the itch and get some much needed relief.
  • Unlike some scrubs that leave you feeling dry and uncomfortable, I can guarantee that this will leave you feeling hydrated. I honestly don't feel like I need to moisturise after I've been in the shower with this.
  • I don't have too much cellulite or too many stretch marks, but I have noticed a slight reduction in them since I started using this as well. No huge, instant results, but it's definitely been a change (which is a huge win)!

Cons:

With every product there are things that don't quite work, or something that I, personally, don't necessarily like. What were the ones with my Citrus Scrub?
  • While I love the sleek black packaging, it can be hard to use in the shower as cardboard and water don't always mix well. I find that putting a small amount in a container or bowl before I get in the shower a little bit easier to use. If you're using it in the bath tub it's much easier!
  • I can't say that I've seen a reduction in any acne yet, but it may just be that I haven't use it enough yet. I'm not marking this as a complete negative, just something I haven't noticed yet.
  • It's messy - look, this point was hard to categorise. I don't mind a messy scrub, I think it's part of the fun! But if you don't want to go to the effort that is required to clean this out of the shower, then it might not be for you.

The Verdict:

I've tried a few different coffee scrubs in the past, but in all honesty I have to say that this is one of my favourite. The grains aren't quite as big/coarse as others so it is much more comfortable to scrub gently with, but also get a really good exfoliation. The coffee scent isn't as strong, but the citrus instead makes it super refreshing to use! I would never have thought of that combination, but I loveeee it! I am also so impressed with how soft and smooth, yet hydrated my skin feels after I've used this too. The slight reduction in stretch masks, and the huge help that it has had with my eczema has been a huge bonus too. All in all it's been a win for me. The cons were hard to find and in all honestly the cons I stated were me being so super picky and weren't things that really bothered me too much. At $15.95 each or $28.70 for two, they are super affordable and totally worth every penny. I highly recommend that you grab a pack, because I can almost guarantee you won't regret it!

Scrubba body also have some new products coming out soon, including shampoos and conditioners, moisturisers and also goat milk soap bars. I am most excited about the soap bars, I mean they have a chocolate scented one coming out! Who WOULDN'T fall in love with that?! Anyway, it's safe to say that I've become a huge fan of Scrubba Body in a few short weeks. They definitely have taken their own twist on the hugely popular coffee scrub and have completely nailed it!
