Meet Mr Pitts

After having issues with eczema under my arms I was super excited to give this all natural deodorant a try. With skin irritation being a real issue for me lately I've become a huge fan of trying out natural skincare products as they often have far less irritants than others. As we often spray harmful chemicals on some of our most delicate skin to prevent sweat and body odour, natural deodorants are a brilliant idea to care better for our pits. Almost all antiperspirants contain harmful elements like aluminium, which have been linked to many health issues. Instead of spraying harmful toxins to remove toxins, consider using natural means to treat it.

Mr Pitts Natural Deodorant*

Mr Pitts is a natural and organic deodorant paste that is designed to neutralise odours and eliminating bacteria, leaving you feeling and smelling fresh. With ingredients such as Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Kaolin Clay, Vitamin E and Tea Seed Oil as well as a bunch of other amazing natural products, it is great for all skin types. Another added bonus? It is 100% Australian made and owned. So does it really work? Or not?

Pros:
  • The whipped paste consistency is really easy to apply - I was a little worried about using a paste, but it simply melts into the skin.
  • You only need a small, pea size amount for each arm, so it lasts for ages. I've been using it for three weeks and there is barely a dint in my jar.
  • It works wonders for masking odour all day! I have played sport in it as well and haven't gone 'ohh man I smell bad' afterwards, because I honestly couldn't smell anything.
  • If you have sensitive skin, this stuff will work amazingly well on your skin. It is gentle, yet effective. It has been great for my eczema reactions under my arms, I haven't had any issues since I started using this a few weeks ago!
Cons:
  • The scent in the jar is much like tea tree oil, so if you're not a fan of tea tree oil then you might not enjoy the scent.

The Verdict

The pros clearly out weigh the cons in this one. I was unsure about the paste and about the scent when I first received this, but after using it for a little while I was a fan. It is easy to apply and the smell isn't strong at all, yet still masks odour. As you can see, the only con is the scent which I think some people might not enjoy, but like I said - once you apply it, you honestly can't smell it (you can't smell anything, which when it comes to BO is great!) At only $17.95 a jar, it is affordable and so worth every dollar.

  1. Ah a deodorant not an anti-perspirant which i would need. Doesn't seem like there is any "healthy" anti-perspirant. i did share a list of healthy deodorant on my blog. would need to repurchase QV healthy no aluminium anti-perspirant

  2. Thanks for sharing such honest opinion about the Mr Pitts deodorants along with the price tag. The natural fragrance is always good it will be better if they offer a trial pack at lesser cost.

  3. Such an interesting idea. I'm not too concerned about chemicals but I do have sensitive skin.
