Ellis Faas Foundation

For months I had been struggling with foundation and finding one that sat well on my skin. My holy grail Nars was starting to look cakey and dry on my skin. I wore the Ellis Faas Foundation to a wedding after a make up application at Mecca and it seemed to sit well and look nice, so I picked it up to try. Many of you have asked me about it so after wearing it for a few weeks I thought it was time to let you know my verdict!

Ellis Faas Skin Veil Foundation

The Ellis Faas Skin Veil Foundation is a light-to-full coverage foundation creates a veil over your skin, designed to blend flawlessly into the skin. It is meant to glide on, covering blemishes and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkle without feeling heavy. At $111 it is a pricey foundation, so is it worth the hefty price tag?

Pros:
  • If you want a light coverage foundation than this foundation is perfect. However....you can also build it to a medium or full coverage. It is perfect for all coverage needs.
  • Despite it being thick (which yes I said was a con) it is dewy, glowy and feels light on the skin.
  • It lasts all day, blending into your skin rather than just sitting on top and slowly caking over the day. All foundations will wear over the day, but the dewy finish of this foundation means that it doesn't dry your skin out either - which for someone with dry skin is a god send!

Cons:
  • It has a really thick texture which can be hard to blend in. I find using a damp beauty blender the best way to apply it, but the thickness can be tricky to work with.
  • The thickness means that it can take more time to blend and to build up. It isn't a quick foundation to apply and to get a flawless coverage. Despite this, if you have the time and put the effort in than you will love this foundation.

I have added a little bit of blush and done my eyes as well, but this is the coverage and finish of the foundation. I'm in love!

The Verdict:

I actually really like this foundation. After months of not finding a foundation that is suitable for my skin, this was a bit of a saviour. Yes it is expensive and there are days where I feel like my It Cosmetics CC Cream is easier to apply, but when I take the effort to actually use this foundation my skin always looks amazing and I feel amazing wearing it.

  6. I haven't tried this (or even heard of it) but I would be interested to get a sample. I think at that price I might be less inclined as thats two bottles of Estee Lauder compared to one of these, but it does look nice on you! Jackie (Lipstick, Lattes & Louboutins)
