Ride or Die Tag

6:12 pm

Jaclyn Hill started the Ride or Die tag, naming all her favourites products. Basically the rules are: List your ride or die cosmetic products from each category (foundation, blush, mascara, lip products, etc.). If you could only take ONE from each category to a desert island, which would you choose? So I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon and list my favourite things! So here goes, my 'Ride or Die' list.

Primer

My favourite primer is one I only found recently discovered. It happens to be the Becca Backlight Priming Perfector. It is so good! It leaves your skin feeling hydrated, but also creates tis beautiful shimmer that makes you think you almost don't need any make up to go over the top. I'm just disappointed it doesn't last longer to be honest, I've only been using this primer a month and it's already half empty :(

Foundation

This one is an easy pick. It's not actually a foundation, but a CC cream. The It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream! As you may remember from my spotlight blogpost on this product, it is light, but so pigmented and keeps your skin hydrated all day. I have a couple of other foundations in my drawer, but this is the only one I ever reach for.

Concealer

Easy. The Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer. It is thick, creamy and has the best coverage of any concealer I've ever used. It is slightly pricier, but it is soooo worth every dollar.

Face Powder

I've been using a fair few face powders at the moment, but if I had to choose just one, it would probably be another Nars product, the Luminous Powder. It gives a good bit of extra coverage, while setting your foundation but also giving you a luminous glow. Unlike other powders that give you that really matte finish, which my skin doesn't enjoy, it gives you this almost dewey glow.

Blush

This category was a tricky one for me as I don't wear a lot of blush. However I think it has to be another new discovery, Kiko Cosmetics Blush Duo. I like the two toned colour which gets the perfect pink for my skin tone. I can't use blushes that are too pink because it makes me look like a doll or something, so I love the slightly lighter colour.

Bronzer

My favourite bronzer comes from the AC On Tour Contour Kit which I am currently in love with. Bronzer's tend to leave me a little orange, but this contour kit is the perfect bronzing shade for me. Plus it gives me the best damn contour for a reasonable price. (I sadly dropped this palette on Thursday at my boyfriends and made the biggest mess...At least it was only really one of the pans that was affected)

Highlight

Another easy choice. How could anyone not love the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector, it gives such an amazing highlight but doesn't make you look like a disco ball. It lasts all day and oh my oh my is it pigmented!

Mascara

I am so picky about my mascaras, everything runs and smudges and is just a mess. Despite that, I have finally found one product that trumps them all! Poni Cosmetics White Knight is the only mascara I will ever use anymore. It has a length and a volume wand and it honestly gives the best effect on your eyelashes. Also, it doesn't smudge!

Eyeliner

I'm kind of in between eyeliners at the moment, but if I had to take one, I'd take the Kiko Ultimate Pen Longwear Eyeliner which is great for a precise, black lining. It lasts all day and doesn't smudge (a bonus if you're in the hot desert, sweating up a storm!)

Lipstick

This was a tricky one, I do own a lot of lipstick, but I don't really wear one more than any other. However, if I had to pick one and only one, I would say the Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Bansar not only is it so easy to apply because of the pencil form, it is also such a perfect consistency - creamy, but a little matte and long lasting, yet hydrating. This is my absolute go-to lip product.

Eyeshadow Palette

As anyone who follows my Instagram (@the.life.of.laura) will know, I absolutely adore my Red Earth Warm Nights Eyeshadow Palette which is my perfect combination of nudes and shimmery eyeshadows. It looks simple, but you can create some really great looks with it as well. I am very tame when it comes to eyeshadow looks though!

I don't share my 'holy grail' products enough lately, I'm thinking of doing a Ride or Die skincare edition, would anyone be interested?
