Trash Talk! May Edition

It's that time of the month again! Empties!!! I feel like I share a lot of samples and not a lot of full size products in my empties...I just want to share everything that I tried I guess, including my first impression on samples. Do you guys enjoy hearing about my samples and the full size? Or just full size? It's kind of a long one, so lets get to it!

Full Size Empties

Mecca Cosmetica Transforming Hand Cream $40 - Oh my gosh! This stuff is amazing!! I received this as my Beauty Loop Birthday present last September and it's the best hand cream I've ever used! I use it every day morning and night to try and keep my hands hydrated and it doesn't leave your hands with an oily residue and smells amazing! Will I repurchase? I am not one to buy myself hand cream, but if I was to buy I would 100% buy this again!

Bio Cellulose Apple Stem Cell Collagen Mask $14 - I used this as apart of Beauty Heaven's May Discovery Bag and it was the first time I’d ever used a sheet face mask before. First impressions: It’s kind of tricky to get out of the packaging. I opened it up and pulled it out and found myself in a bit of a twist trying to unfold it and get it untangled to take off the protective layers and put it on my face. But it was so hydrating and left my skin feeling so soft. In saying that I didn't get the same sort of results that I get from my clay masks, so I'm still unsure about it. Will I repurchase? Probably not, I love my other face masks too much!

Perricone MD No Mascara Mascara $47 - AMAZING! That is honestly the best way to describe this mascara! After having this product for way longer than the recommended amount of time you should have a mascara, I decided that it was time to throw it out...It is amazing though! I have never found a mascara that I could use on days where I wanted a minimal make up look and also on days where I wanted a bigger/bolder look. This mascara does not smudge throughout the day, it helps to lengthen your lashes and is so easy to get off! Will I repurchase? Not the moment as I have a fair few mascaras on the rotation, but at some stage I definitely will!

The Body Shop Egyptian Milk and Honey Bath $29.95 - This bath product is pretty great. If you have tried the Milk Bath from The Body Shop it is very similar in consistency to that product, but with a beautiful smell! My skin is always so hydrated after I use this in the bath and I find it really relaxing to bathe in as well. Will I repurchase? Let's just say there is already one in the mail...

Arbonne Aromassentials Unwind Bath and Shower Gel $22 - I have to say I had higher expectations with this product. I didn't enjoy the smell as much as I would've hoped. In saying that it bubbled well in the bath, so that was a bonus! Will I repurchase? No.

Klorane Nettle Dry Shampoo $14.95 - Best. Dry. Shampoo. EVER! Well I don't really know that, but it is the only dry shampoo that has ever worked for my super oily hair. This helps to give me an extra day or two between washes. It isn't the complete solution, but it certainly helps to stop me wanting to wash my hair every day. Will I repurchase? Already have!

Lush Intergalactic Bath Bomb $8.95 - This review will be easy - blue, glitter, hydration and amazing smell. My favourite bath bomb ever. Will I repurchase? Yes, every time yes!

Lush Amandopondo Bubble Bar - Unfortunately this bubble bar has been discontinued, but I loved it, super hydrating and I found it really relaxing. I do wish I could've repurchased it.

Deluxe Samples Empties

The Body Shop: Oils of Life Revitalising Facial Oil $54.95 - This is a really lovely oil, with Camellia Seed and Rosehip oil it is really hydrating and claims to have anti-ageing properties. I wasn't hugely excited about this product. The deluxe sample lasted me about a week, maybe a little longer and it definitely helped keep my skin hydrated, but I can't say it did wonders for my skin. I didn't really notice any difference in my skin while using it and I still found that my skin dried out throughout the day, unlike other oils which keep my skin hydrated all day. Will I repurchase? Probably not.

Lush Marilyn Hair Treatment $27.95 - I was given this sample from the lovely young man who gives amazing hand massages at Lush in Canberra. I was unsure about this product. It is deisgned for blonds, claiming to help your blonde last longer. Now I don't dye my hair, so I wasn't sure what to look out for when sampling this product. Which was probably a good thing, I didn't notice any difference after my wash, my hair was just as soft, just as oily and just as frustrating as it usually is. Will I repurchase? No.

Clarins Multi-Active Night Cream $68 - This sample came along with my Clarins purchase last month. I haven't used a night cream in AGES so I decided to give this a go, hoping it would give my skin that extra hydration and rejuvination over night. The deluxe sample lasted me about a week and a half, which I was quite impressed with, seeing as I was kind of slathering it on. However, I can't say I noticed any dramatic difference. I really enjoyed the fresh scent, it was refreshing and a nice soothing scent at the same time. Besides that it didn't really do much for me. Will I repurchase? No. Had I noticed dramatic differences in my skin, I might have, but I didn't notice any changes.

Kate Sommerville Quench Hydrating Face Serum $98 - Mecca kindly gave me a sample of this when I made a purchase not too long ago. At the time I was suffering from really dry skin and I was looking for a serum that would help with my dry skin. I love this stuff, it was so hydrating and didn't irritate my skin which was an added bonus! Will I repurchase? If I suffer from dry irritated skin again, I will definitely look into this one!

Sachet Samples Empties

Alpha-H Liquid Gold Sample $59.95 - There is a lot of hype around this product, so I was really excited to receive a sample of it. I have to say, it didn't live up to the hype that I'd heard about with results appearing overnight. I used this as the last step in my skincare, to get the best results overnight. I didn't really notice any difference in my skin. Will I repurchase? At this stage, probably not.

Bobbi Brown Soothing Cleansing Oil $63 - I have never used a cleansing oil, but I surprisingly really enjoyed this, it made it easy to get all my make up off. I actually really enjoyed this. Will I repurchase it? For $63, I'm not too sure if I will repurchase it, it is a little pricey for a cleanser.

Dermalogica Exfoliating Body Scrub $53.50 - I am beginning to love Dermalogica! This scrub smelt so relaxing and refreshing, with a hint of Lavender and Rosemary (I'm loving Rosemary at the moment). It left my skin feeling soft and refreshed, it wasn't too coarse, but made for a great scrub. Will I repurchase? After I finished all the scrubs I currently I have, I think I will!

Pelactiv Facial Refiner Deep Cleansing Scrub $52 - This sample certainly left me with soft skin!! I really enjoyed this, it helped to remove my make up and leave my skin feeling soft and refreshed. Will I repurchase? I already have a face scrub that I love, which is much cheaper than this one, but in all honesty it's only the price holding me back.

  1. You did really well with your empties Laura! It's rare for me to finish up that much in a month & I also rarely use samples/sachets, so my empties are mostly full sized stuff. The only thing I go through quickly is hand cream.

    1. Yea I tried both of those too and they were fine, they didn't do an amazing job and I thought they were fairly similar too. The Klorane one is the only one that helps my constantly oily hair!

  3. Empties posts are such a great idea, and I love seeing peoples thoughts on both full size and samples, because while it's just a sample to you it could be the sample review that makes someone buy full size! I'm going to check out that dry shampoo, I'm using a Moroccan oil one atm which is awesome but very $$
