Bitchin Skin

I love body scrubs...there is something so relaxing about scrubbing away life and just getting rid of those impurities (taking your anger out on your skin in a weekly exfoliation, 2 birds with one stone!!!) I've tried them all - coffee, salt and sugar - but matcha? I had not tried that...not before I discovered Bitchin Skin!

What is Bitchin Skin?

"Hi, I'm bitchinskin. I'm 100% Australian owned and source all my ingredients from Australian suppliers. While I'm here to give you great skin, I'm not just skin-deep. I believe that confidence is the key to true beauty and to get this, a little help with being comfortable in your skin goes a long way. Once you start to feel sexy in your own skin, then the rest will start to unfold. I'll help you with the skin part with my matcha-based body scrub, and on the way (if we keep in contact), I'll impart a little knowledge in other areas to help you grow into a bitchin' babe."

What is matcha and why is it so special?

I understand your question! I asked the same one. Matcha is super-concentrated 100% pure green tea leaves, stone ground into a fine powder. Green tea detoxes your inside, so it makes sense that using it on your skin would help as well! Matcha is designed to fix acne, dry skin and wrinkles as well.

Bitchin Skin Matcha Body Scrub

It retails for $14.95, with free delivery in Australia. I am yet to finish the packet, but depending on how generous you are with the scrub I think you could get at least 5 uses out of the packet.

Pros:
  • 100% organic ingredients - this is a huge plus for sensitive skin. Simple ingredients that give you results is what your want!
  • It is a coarse scrub, but still gentle enough to use on the face.
  • Hydration central! Scrub away, but know that your skin will be left hydrated and soft!
  • It has worked wonders for my eczema! If my skin is a bit itchy, I jump in the shower with this scrub and the itch is gone and it also gently nourishes my dry, flaky skin.

Cons:
  • Hard to tell if it reduced cellulite and acne - I will keep you posted on this one guys, I am always looking for products that help with acne, so I'm hoping that it may help in the future!
  • It can leave quite an oily residue on the skin if you leave it on for a while, which for some people this could be a con. I found it to be quite hydrating though.
  • It can make you look a little green if you leave it on too long. (Tip: use a good soap or facial cleanser to make sure you get rid of it all).

The Verdict:

Huge fan of this scrub and I have to say I love their motto 'confidence is the key to true beauty' and I have to say I gained confidence in myself when I started using this scrub. I'd been struggling with dry, flaky skin on my forehead and one scrub of this and the flakiness was gone. A couple of days later and the flakiness has almost completely disappeared. Using a little bit of this when I notice the flakiness appearing and it's gone! I'm not as worried about my skin drying out anymore, because I now know how to fix it! It scrubs away and leaves your skin soft and hydrated, you will want everyone to feel how soft your skin is!

FYI: Bitchin Skin is currently doing an AMAZING GIVEAWAY where you could win a year's worth of their scrub, PLUS a years worth of Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara! Head on over to check it out!

  2. Glad you had great results! I'm still going with mine and haven't tried it on my face yet. I thought it might be too harsh, but now that I've read your review I think I might try it there as well as my body :)

  5. I can't use coffee scrubs as they give me a head ache so it's good to read about a green tea based scrub!
