Things to do before you kick the bucket

7:00 pm

I was terrified last year, before I turned 20. I mean, I'd spent two decades in this world and I felt like I hadn't achieved enough, that my life was a boring waste with nothing to show for. Now in retrospect, for someone my age I've achieved a fair bit, I finished school, I have an amazing teaching job that I feel like I should be more qualified for (don't worry, the qualification is coming guys, I'm not leading the children astray!) and I've been involved in so many great things. I just felt like it wasn't enough. I'd only been over seas once, about 2 months before I turned 20. I haven't done crazy things you should do in your late teens and I felt like I skipped the fun part of my life and went straight from adult to child. At the beginning of this year I vowed to make a difference, that I would try to make my life more exciting however I could.

Which is why when I saw this book I knew I had to have it...

I'd been talking to my sister the other week about starting a bucket list and she'd sent me hers through so I would help her tick some off. I've never really had a bucket list, only things that I throw around from time to time that I'd like to do at some stage in my life. But now I've decided I must start a solid list, so I will actually do something fun with my life.

Some of the top things that will be included on my bucket list are:

1. Visit an Elephant sanctuary and help out/be involved in some way - Anyone that knows me knows my love for elephants (it's pretty obvious by the necklace that I never take off...). I've never been certain about how I felt about riding elephants or the commercialised idea of it, but I've been researching elephant sanctuary's for ages, where they are allowed to roam free and people go in and basically pamper the elephants - no restrains, no violence, just good, healthy and happy animals. I think it would be a super fun experience!

2. Travel by myself - now I actually will be ticking this off in a couple of months time when I go to Italy! I feel like it's something that you need to do in your 20's, or so I've been told. Explore a foreign place, where the language isn't native to me, where I've never been before. It will be terrifyingly beautiful and I'm so excited!

3. Learn how to fly a plane - not a jumbo jet or like professionally or anything, but just a little one! I think it could be fun to learn how to fly some huge piece of machinery kilometers up in the air! Just think about how cool that would be!

If you're interested in knowing where I got my beautiful bucket list book from, it is actually from Mi Goals, a company which makes diaries and goal books. They are simple and I am someone that loves simple, minimalist stationary (it's kind of an addiction.) I love this bucket list because it actually gives you a list of 100 things to do in the front, some that may be unattainable, but fun nonetheless. It then has a section for all your bucket list items - a page for each one, with an area to brainstorm or plan how to tick of that dream. At the back it then has an index list for them where you can tick them off as you complete them. I love it and am so excited to fill it with all sorts of crazy things I want to do before I die. I'm going to be as wild in my imagination as I can, I think that's the beauty about a bucket list - that you can let your imagination run wild and that you never know where it might take you!

What are some of the crazy things you have or would have on your bucket list? I'd love to hear them! They might inspire my list as well!
